Always carry my drivers license and photocopy of my passport showing the same drivers license. Has been fine so far.

Never carry my passport, but I'm starting to think otherwise. You'll never have identity issues with your passport. I like walking away from police-type situations scot-free. 8)

So, what exactly IS NL law regarding identification?
Do you need photo identification, or is passport mentioned specifically?
What will said violation cost in €, if I'm guilty of improper identification?

Have never ever been asked for ID in a CS - not when I was 20 and not now I'm 46. Does this only happen to those still yet to start shaving?

I was sat in betty boop back in April with my wife, neither of us got ID'ed, every other customer who entered was asked to show ID! Suddenly we both felt really old! ( we're mid 30's). When we returned last month the only CS we were asked for ID in was voyagers, both of us showed UK driving licences, no problem.
