Really enjoyed this place, turned up not expecting to get a seat and just to pick up some yellow cab ( which was kick arse) ended up getting a couple of grams of grey haze, also pretty amazing. Managed to get a seat and chat from to old dudes from New York about general crap when a guy on the table shouted out ' its so great its only americans in here.' To which i stood up and said ' lets not be forgetting the english!' Then preceded to hit bongs with him and discuss why english food, namely fish n chips, was better than traditional american food, macdonalds. One of my faveourite amsterdam memories. Recommend this place big time.

just back. big crowd waiting for gear on all three days fri sat and sun right from the get go (12pm). big buddha cheese was extremely fragrant and very strong. second best of the trip, although i had to cringe asking for it. chocolupe was great as well. grey berry was very poor. not cured correctly so was shit to grind and grassy to smoke. the big suprise was lemon skunk - by far the stoniest indica i've smoked. not social in any way. after hours only.

excellent friendly dealer who was patient and didn't mind us pawing all the buds, and cheerful customers. note to GA crew, lease a bigger shop!

Friendly budtender, will take time to answer questions and offer suggestions, even with the long lines here. Tried the Pink Kush which was nice, but not stellar.

The Grey area provided two of the best smokes on my last trip, but unfortunately one of the worst too. Too busy to sit down on my visit, but was expecting that anyway. The big buddha cheese and grey crystals were awesome, probably the best smoke of the trip. The only thing that annoyed me was after asking the bud-tender to recommend a nice strong weed for the end of the day, he offered some grey mist which was shite! It was comparable to the street skunk that we get over here as standard. Will defo go there again, but will not ask the guy for any recommendation.

We had the same experience with the Grey Mist from 18/04/08-22/04/08. I kept looking for the indica hammer which was completely lacking.

Similarly, the Chocolope and Sour Diesel we had from there was spectacular.

Hit and miss maybe on the Mist?

yeah sliderd, hit or miss I agree, just because some people rate the mist. I will ask the bud-tender when I go back and see what he has to say about it, such a strange one in comparison to the other two I tried. I understand that the mist was cheaper, but I believe that has no relevance as he recommended it to me. :? At least it wasn't coated with crap I suppose, like what is about at my end at the mo. :x

Had Chocolope, Golden Soles, Lemon Skunk, and Yellow Cab from there last week.
The Lemon Skunk was a nice mellow high, not strong, but the taste was delightful.
Yellow Cab was ok, nothing spectacular.
Golden Soles was a mellow smoke as well- I struggle with hash though, and tend to buy more weed.
Chocolope- what can I say- the smoke of the trip!
In a period of six days, I smoked some 35 grams of weed, including two different kinds of ice hash, a Rifman, and a variety of 'strong' types of weed, but none of them came close to the 'high' of Chocolope.
I smoked a full gram of this by myself in a joint and felt slightly 'drunk' for the next 4 hours!

YeY! The Chocolope has gotta be the best green in AMS at the mo in my humble opinion....

I agree Dr. Stranger, Chocolope was by far the strongest and best I smoked whilst there!

The way people rave about this strain make me think i must of got a bad batch. I thought it was extremely disappointing, definantly not anywhere near the smoke of my trip :( Also i thought the high was a lacking, although the Sour Creme from Grey Area was amoungst the best of the trip!

I reckon it could be the case Sir Niall.
Horses for course though, its a case of what YOU like, and how YOU experience the high.

Yep... agreed. Horses 4 courses. The Choc is a good all rounder with a bit of a creeper effect but it hasn't been too consistent of late... in the last two weeks anyway... but still good. Last batch was nice and so is the bud I'm smokin' now however I'm still chasing that bud I first tried... Same goes 4 the BBC... ace in September not as impressive now but still sweet.
Same goes for others though, e.g. sage n sour at Damp K Ring... beautiful and smelt like root ginger first time I tried it but every time I've been back lately the buds haven't been as tight n smelly but still a sweet smoke.
If I do get buds from other good coffee shops I'm often left thinking after why did I bother? Should have gone to grey area! Usually the reason I didn't is coz it was shut... Of course it's nice to try what else is out there too...
