Amsterdam in February

Post by cheese »

Hey just wondering what its like in the coffeeshops in february. are they still crowded etc..

also if you have been in february, how was the weather, and in general is this a good time to go? i have been many times in april and may, so i know what its like during a busier time.

im also going sorta close to the highlife cup.. my trip is feb 12-19, and i belive the cup is the week after.. will this affect the weed scene at all?

anyone recomend anything cool in february, i will be with my girlfriend.

I go every feb for the wifes birthday (gotta start organising for next year) and it is very cold and theres a good chance of snow (what better place to be in the snow though?) the coffeeshops are really quiet as there aren't many tourists, I've found that you get spoke to in Dutch first compared to going when its warmer you get spoke to in English first.

hey JW, Boner - did u do anything cool while there with ur broads in february?? anything romantic etc

flybynite - thanks man! cool website u got goin on!

and boner thats awesome man! , i have been before, but only during the high seasons, so it was always real busy. my friend who lives in rotterdam told me , things get a bit more quiet but like JW said, its still pretty busy. im hoping for it to be nice and dead, so my girlfriend and i can really get a chance to relax.

and is the weed or hash any different?? anything special to do during the winter there i should try?? i will be there for valentines day, so i was hopeing to plan a nice dinner for me and the girlfriend... price is not really a problem, although i dont want something that will blow me away...

also looking to get a nice bottle of wine or champagne for after dinner at the hotel ;)

thanks a bunch everyone!!

Ive never found the goods to be any different.

We just did the normal stuff, get stoned had beers, went for meals and visited a few musuems...

Some of the meals were awesome, esp after a fat smoke. its just nice to chill out for a week......

i normally get over in march, the weekends are still busy enough and the gear is still top notch.

put it this way, despite how cold it often is at the time of year you will still have a great time :)

i go almost every jan or feb. plenty to do, not as crowded as usual. plenty cold. romantic.....try the candle light cruise, 50 euro but romantic, sometimes they put up a ice rink on dam square, sort of romantic. the horse carrige rides in front of the [palace can also be considered romanic.

hell i got engaged at a coffeeshop just so i could always go back on our anniversary just to be romanic.

there can be snow but i would not count on alot of it. i have seen it snow several times but it never snowed very much and never stayed on the ground long. plan for a blizzard but expect much less.
