It is an awesome bit of kit, i think he said he won his in a prize draw its got all the "world" cities on it. Worth about $700 by all accounts too

Dont waste your time/money with a gps unit, theres no better place in the world to get lost in and its such a small city you wont stay lost for long.

i would agree with what everyone said here

get the map from here, but i would also recommend another map that you could prob get at your hotel with street names on it! just to get your bearings a bit better!

but as boner said gettin lost in dam is not such a bad thing! it sometimes leads to finding great places you never would have done!!

if the only place that you are ever going to go is the dam then probalby are ok with a paper map, but if you are an avid travaler then it is much better than maps.
We love ours for our trips but then we do get a little more off of the beaten path than most people.
ours is a Garmin aprox 350 then you can down load the soft ware off of share sites
love 420 gold and anything outdoors!

Well that's not entirely true, well for me and a buddy anyway. First time in Amsterdam we got completely lost and ended on the other side Jordaan. We eventually found our way back to Centrum by following the trams lines. Who says stoner's aren't resourceful...

Jordaan's still in the center. =P Just stay on the inside of the singelgracht; all intersecting canals lead to the centrum.
