Great trip report - it gave me the munchies! Where's is that "boob grab" cobblestone? So many cool little things like that in Amsterdam. Great pictures.

If my foggy memory serves me, this is in the RLD, in the sidewalk on Oudekerksplein, near where CS Old Church used to be.

That's the one. :)

I'm not a cocktail man either but Ive recently enjoyed a few raspberry mules/passion fruit mojitos with a couple spliffs - great combo :D
Aye lad, Toscana was a quality. I think it worked out around 45 euro all in, a drink each, starter and main course. :)

Cocktails are the shit :) ....If your local doesn't class a "Cocktail " as a squirt of warm lime water into your pint

Cheers for the comments :)

Day three

Awake around 10 am by the time I peel my eyes open, feeling fuzzy and still stoned. So jump into the shower, freshen up and we`re ready for a munch. Step outside and its already feeling like it’s gonna be a warm one. Head west towards the Pancake Bakery, with the post breaky aim was to finally find Paradox. So along the Prinsengracht, take a seat outside in the shade. Note the pattern starting to form here; you see we came to the conclusion that the perfect temperature for my wife is a cool 16.5 degrees Celsius...in the shade. (Most Norn Ironers Don’t Do Well In Direct Sunlight)
Ordered a bacon pancake smothered in syrup, wife ordered a cheese and bacon omellette. Was nice enough wee spot, it filled a hole.

Now me and the wife are easily amused. Enter sarcastic American lad. They’re standing at the door, waitress come out to seat them. The wife being all nice says “Do you want to sit outside by the canal??” the husband replys “ Ohh..Yeahh..What??You Wanna sit Beside the little Dirty car??”” (Think kind of like Ben Stiller) This one statement had us entertained for the rest of the trip.

Image

So we finish up and I spark up half a spliff I had from earlier and head down towards the Rozengracht, cross the canal first street on the right. Easy. It’s not a day for walking the suns hot and dry mouth is never far away. Arrive into the coolness of Paradox hoping Finger Hash is on the menu, it’s not, but the BT recommends the Wash, so I pick up a couple of grams of this. It’s a well strong bit of Hash; make sure you have a pillow handy while toking. Chilled here for a good hour or so, a nice vibe in this place, nice tunes that arnt trying to bust your eardrums. Quality for a quiet toke during the day.

By the time we were leaving I was well battered, we pushed through Dam Square, there was a guy using bits of string to blow massive bubbles. Not a bad career choice in my opinion. Fancied some milkshakes at HSBM, arrive...NO MILKSHAKES…on the hottest day so far….Two ice cold Fanta then. Perked myself up with a couple of spliffs. Called into Anyday for a quick drink on the terrace, before heading to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

Id built up quite a hash/weed collection and need to get stuck in, I did. We decided on heading to Ashoka indian restaurant on the Spuirstraat. It was nice, I got the Lamb Jalfreze, got the hotter version, it wasn’t hot at all, but I munched the lot. The wife got Sizzling Tandoor Lamb Tikka. I could see out the window onto the street I could watch the nightshift girls setting up their “shop”.

Image

Afterdinner it was time to find a spot for abit of a sit down, most of the terraces where packed that evening, Utopia, Anyday, so we dandered on round past Dam Square, Greenhouse..nope. Back to the old faithful, HSBM.There was some sort of Gay Film Festival on in the square that night, the place was pretty buzzing. Pulled up chilled out here for a good hour or so.

Image

Ran down to the Greenplace and grabbed some Shoreline. I know there’s been some doubt on here about what it really is, but all I know is that it’s a banging strain that smelt amazing and tasted even better. I got stuck into this and before I knew it, I couldn't concentrate on anything. The wife had asked me to get her a milkshake, what proceeded from here was me, struggling to make sense of the currency as well as any sort of numeracy skills. Took me at least 5 minutes to count out 3 euro for fuck sake

Image

So at around 10:30 we headed around towards De Kuil for Tradition. Don’t know why I like this place, it`s never really about the weed, but it just feels right to call in. Went for a gram of White Widow, more of a joint filler if I’m honest. There was no taste of this. Got a bong and a hot chocolate from behind the counter and chilled here until closing.

Image
This is an inferior hot chocolate compared to Utopias :)

There was a fella across from us completely wasted at the big table. He got up, stood outside the toilet door for like 3 minutes’ without moving then sat back down….before leaving the shop altogether.

Image

“Last Call For Drugs”

Made us laugh like two arseholes when the BT shouted this.

We decided to try and drag the night out abit. It was around half 11:40pm by now and I was expecting most places to be shuting up shop, so we pushed on across past Utopia and found Abraxas. Walked in and The Streets where playing, so I bought a few cokes, had a look at the menu and asked the BT what was decent, he recommended the Crème Maroc. It was well nice. Smooth and left a creamy aftertaste. The terrace is a beauty to behold, it was the perfect last night.

At around 12:30 we headed round to Metropoltian Deli. Two Waffles and a chocolate cornflake bun with fountain chocolate poured over it. Heart Attack Stuff. Another great episode of someone throwing a wobbler….

Someone’s wife must be on a full munch in the shop and her husband isn’t happy. So what he proceeds to do under his breathe, but not really… “No, Get The F**k Out, I Don’t F**king Think So” The whole shop just went completely silent in shock. Now he obviously hasn’t came across a Belfast woman before, because if he had, that’s not how things are run. She would have stopped what she was doing walked straight out and stuck the head right into him…and rightly so.

Back to room, wife comments “You’d think you were on the drink…”, I was absolutely hammered on THC. Waffle Madness Round 2. Waffles Win. Knockout.

Last day.

Wake up 8:30 am, showered, roll up everything I have left into a couple of joints, check out.I don't know what strain it was, but it made me shite a rugby ball. a Dander around for half hour, end up in the old quarter. English fry-up and toast with scrambled eggs. Always call in here, great staff, nice food.

Image

Image

Go for abit of a dander, end up in Utopia. Grab some Gardella and some Critical Mass. The Critical Mass wasn`t bad, but well worth the 10 euro price tag. The Gardella was nice, floral smelling, the stone was clear and clean. One of my favs of the trip.

The sun was mega strong today, so Utopia`s terrace was out of the question. A quick jump across the street to Home-grown Fantasy. Walk in, stand there for around 10 mins while the girl serves about 3 or 4, 18/19 year old lads. They were counting out 1,5 and 10 cent coins for their purchases. :|

Finally the girl finishes up serving them apologises to me, "No worrys, Fanta and a coke" :)

Unfortunately that's the lot for this trip.....Although I forgot to mention the Cocktail Waiter who seemed to know his stuff and was great. Although it was funny seeing him sneakily having a munch underneath the counter when he thought know one was watching, then jumping up as if he wasn`t doing anything. Good Lad

The Best...As long as she's completely obliterating me at various card/board games she's quite content to keep returning. Her own sadistic high if you will

Unfortunately not, by that stage we had retreated back onto the Beurstraat to escape that Sky Fire God thing. Apologises again lad, hopefully another time.

Cheers Again Everyone.
