9 days out - my fare remains at $1009 and is $7 less than than the 1 stop itinerary.

This morning, I dreamt of being there.

3 more weeks till i buy

At $1000.+/- you might as well book...yer not really gping to save more than $100 at this point, but likely stand to pay $200-800 more if/when prices change. A poker player would book since the expected value in the longterm is quite bad.

im going to hold my cards i think, , things can change i might buy tomorrow ,
actually going to wait to see waht happens this wed. when the airline new fares come out if they change at all

Next year we go for a week, four days just aint close to enough

FYI - 7 days out from departure, my trip is still $1009 (KLM) - however, United has step in with a fare of $1003.

whew... this post had me a little worried, but thankfully the price of the flight I booked last week hasn't changed!

*I need to stop paying attention to this thread and just be content with what I paid!! Pretty positive my flight wouldn't go down enough for me to get any kind of refund anyway!

6 days form departure, my nonstop itinerary is now at $1489. Although by adjusting the trip a day one way or the other, there are still fares around $1009, on both KLM and United.

T minus 5 days from departure:

$1530 for the nonstops on those dates. One can still get the $1009 fare if the return date is pushed a day or two later.

6 days from AMS.

Yes, it doesn't really matter now. Conclusion? The range seems to be $1000 to $1500 for a nonstop round trip, anything under $1000 is a great fare. Seemingly only offered months ahead of departure. I'll have to start looking for April 2014, soon.

BTW, those who collect Delta miles can now book a reward trips on Virgin Atlantic!

Sweet spot seems to be 9 months or 90-100 days out
