Any cool coffee shop to go to if Im with the wife?

Post by HAJI »

Just wanted to see if anybody could give me some good coffee shops to go to in Amsterdam while im with my wife. This would be our fourth trip and she usually gets bored and the only place she doesn't mind going is the Dampkring and Greenhouse Namaste , I don't mind but I just don't like the herb at Dampkring and greenhouse is out of the way. I went to couple other coffee shops but most of them are just full of dudes and they do nothing but stare at her when we're there so she feels awkward. So if anybody can can help with some advice on some coffeeshops with good atmospheres and that are not packed with guys. I'll be staying near Leidseplein area so anything in the vicinity would be great.

How come your wife gets stared at a lot in coffee shops ? Is she famous or recognizable/remarkable in some immediately apparent way?
Does the staring begin before or after she consumes weed?

Anyhow. It sounds like your wife is not too comfortable in the setting of a CS. Either she is 'bored' or people are 'staring.'
I'd be proactive. Go out and buy and fly from someplace decent. I'd go to La Tertulia for some mango haze but that is just me. :) Then I'd take my wife to the bulldog/grasshopper (whatever the place is called) in Leidsplein. Find a nice table looking out onto the square and order up a couple of drinks. Smoke your own.
Now your wife gets to be the one staring at other tourists as they wander around. Being a lively area it is a great people watching spot. Being on the inside looking out to a certain degree might make her feel a bit more comfortable.
How much did you produce?

No she's not anybody a famous and nobody recognizable but she is very attractive with a lot of assets… And no she does not smoke, usually when she goes with me to the coffeeshops she just hangs out and has a drink. But thanks for the info treetop , I'll definitely take her to La Tertulia, I heard that place has a good vibe.

Hi mate, if your wife isn't a toker then under the European Convention of Human Rights she could get you done for subjecting her to cruel and unusual treatment by incarcerating her in Coffeeshops.

My Mrs does toke but doesn't like hanging too much in the shops so happy for me going solo. :D What would yours think about staying home or going somewhere else she fancied ? I know when I chilled from the drinking I realised what boring Fkrs pissheads generally were . I bet it's just the same with the green.

Solo = liberation (for both partners :D) :D
What a long strange trip it is.

I normally go solo, but heading over with the missus in a few weeks time for 3 nights.
She dosen't smoke either and isn't wanting to spend all the trip in coffeeshop's.
Think it will be buy and fly mostly for me. My digs are ok with smoking, so will probably do the tourist things during the day, and chill/smoke later at night in the apartment.
