General Amsterdam questions

Post by Smason »

Evening,

Been browsing this site abit (well quite a lot actually) in anticipation of my first trip next month. I have a few questions which I hope you can help with.

What's the rules on tobacco in coffeeshops? I've seen some people say its ok if your not obvious and others say its not allowed at all, don't fancy smoking pure amsterdam weed as I don't smoke all that often!

Also what are the best clubs and smoker friendly bars? I'm 20 so looking for quite a young crowd with a good atmosphere.

I'd also like to try hash while I'm out there as I never have before, what's the best way to smoke it and what are the effects like compared to weed?

Thanks in advance

Welcome smason. Good to have you here.

Regards your questions,

As far as my experience goes as long as you don't have any tobacco on display no one will say anything. It obviously differs from shop to shop of course. Best option is to ask the bud tender if there are no obvious signs.

There are loads of smoke friendly bars about. Younger ones like hunters bar and the bulldogs are largely in the red light district. Ricks bar is a nice place on the canal but I'm 40 and prefer somewhere more sedate. Batavia is another that springs to mind. There are others and a search on the site will direct you to lists.

Personally with hash, I always have in a usual joint with tobacco.

Have a great time. Let us know when you are there and flybynight will add you to the who's in town on the coffeeshops menus site. Also try and get to a toke and talk or meet Gapie. He will certainly show you around town.

SORRY FOR SPEAKING FOR YOU GUYS FBN AND STAN.

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

You are not wrong! Hilarious! So many people seem to have lost the ability to actually read and/or do a search on any forum. Thanks for the laugh.

So, why have a forum then? Just post a page of FAQ's and forget about interacting. Information changes, rules change, attitudes change, therefore, answers to the same old questions can change as well.
True but a little research before posting shows some respect that will usually be returned. Some of your questions have been answered recently in other threads. Would it hurt to use the search?

I would say smoke it in a pipe. That's the classic way to smoke hash and you can get a small pipe for a low cost in plenty shops around Amsterdam. A small but functional wooden pipe will do just fine. Usually comes with a screen that you place in the bottom of the pipe. Good luck and enjoy your hash!
