pretty sure baba souvenir shop have different kinds but honestly I think best option if you have doubts about the weight is asking the tender to let you check. If you check it at hotel/home but also in the shop they can say you removed a little bit of it so better asking immediately. Last time I was refused I left the weed there as I was sure it was 0.7g/0.8g and not 1g.

the idea is, when in doubt, to check it right in front of the budtender

I've never double checked weights in CS in Amsterdam. Already got enough going on without worrying about that kind of thing.
A tricky situation. A thieving BT is probably going to bluff it out by getting angry, yelling a lot and throwing you out. After all it could mean his job to get caught stealing off customers. If not then he/she probably makes the rules in which case you are fucked anyway.
In either case I sense an unpleasant situation being made worse by taking a stand. Name and shame ALL thieving BT's here on ACD might be a good start. It will lose that CS more business as your report is there for all eternity for the whole world to see. An angry confrontation between you and the thief working in the coffee shop is forgotten all too easily and explained away even easier.
Suppose I should bring my pocket scales next trip and check a few places are not taking the piss. Quite unforgivable behaviour from any BT who is not a scum sucking pig though. Prices are already sky high without an extra shave off.

I don't know about the u.s. but I would bet the house that if british security/passport control spotted scales in your bag on the way out they'd flag you for a little tickle if not a good bumming on the way home.

The only way to really know if the budtender is dishonest is to check the calibration of the scale...it's possible he/she is a scammer...it's also possible the scale is off (either intentional or not)...and of course, it's also possible they are pinching, a pocket scale may not tell the whole story, but it will defo be an interesting scene.
Either way, seems like an unnecessary headache or potential altercation while on vacation, better to let the euros be spent elsewhere.

if you take it away, weigh it and it is underweight just don't go back. it's nor worth making a scene over.

That would be more my style. However I'd post it up on t'internet. Name of CS, day, time visited, basic description of the thief working in the coffee shop. Amount the thief stole in grams and euros. Reaction when confronted. (if confronted) That kind of thing.
Maybe we should have a thread.......

Might be cheaper (than purchasing a scale), and raise less flags going through customs to just carry a brass “standard” in say a 5 gram weight in your pocket. That could be explained away a hundred ways and then use the CS/BT scale and check your weight on his scale at the moment of purchase, then politely (or not so, depending on one’s own demeanor that day) suggest "the scale needs to be recalibrated”. That also takes most of the appearances of a crooked BT off his shoulders and makes it a bit less confrontational as he can claim ignorance, apologize and correct your bag, even if he is a thieving POS. Whether he calibrates the scale for the future or not, it could then be reported here and it is a bit more quantifiable than, “I think I was short about .1-.2 g.”).
