we need an ACD bike/bikes

Post by dwain82 »

how cool would it be it we could somehow get a few bikes together and a place to park them up with them number bike locks and when people of this website are heading over to Amsterdam there a bike there waiting for them and all they have to do is message an admin of here for the number for the bike lock :D as long as people respect them as im sure they would of this site as everyone are friends and the bikes could be for you too !I wonder if this could really work as it sounds like a good thing as im sure many pf u know after the first day or 2 it really starts to hurt the feet when u like to smoke and fly at each shop and it cant be a pain having to hire a bike and can start to get pricey if your there for a while/often

Well,i think it would be a better Idea to make a Deal with some of the Fiets(Bycicle)Taxi Guys (its like a bycicle rikscha) and ask them if they would offer a special Coffeshop Tour ;)

Yes the rickshaws are expensive, bikes are more fun and can be rented for 5-10e a day.

I read that they were often cheaper than taxis, never experienced either though tbh

Cheaper than taxis yes, but not cheap. It depends how far you are traveling really.

recycled bike shop on spuistraat near the doors palace bar if they have any in stock is another question, they are nto a big opperation and prices being 5euro, they go quick

Just look for the BMX outside with a sign hanging saying "bike rental 5euro per day"

you will have to leave a deposit(normally a passport)

Is that with lock and insurance?

Don't we need our passport for the coffeeshops?

You get a lock and your passport is the insurance you dont steal or sell the bike

when I used them I managed to negotiate just leaving cash as I did not have any othrr form of iD than my passport. My partner in the past has left her passport as she has a drivers license for ID or vice versa

I would never leave my passport to rent a bike,, that's just crazy,, if they want your passport then I would go someplace else for a bike rental

absolutely!!
NEVER leave your passport with ANYONE!!

First off by law, you need to have it on you. Second wtf are THEY doing with your passport??! You have no guarantee that some sort of identity theft is not occurring. Absolutely crazy. They can hold a credit card number on ya for "insurance". Never leave your ID, ANY ID with a third party!
