Does weed get worse before the cup?

Reviewing my posting history, FYI.. it's there for the world to read, I fail to see the basis of your opinion that I'm one of the worst offenders on ACD for being a troll.
I may invoke negativity among bullies and trolls ( hmm, how bout you? ), but that's my intent. I'm a member in good standing with the G.O.T.H. (Global Order of Troll Hunters).
So the question is this - are you pro or anti bulling/trolling?
If against, you might want to focus your opinions on those who are in fact bullies and trolls, and not those who stand up to them.

Older budtender in boerejongons told me today that weed tends to get worse before the cup cos growers hold back the best till then. He also said they dont take part in the cup and they always have good properly cured and flushed weed tho so could have been pushing his own agenda abit

Not sure why he would say they don't enter cup when they did last year and previous years

In over 15 years and around 35 visits to Amsterdam I can say one thing for sure- the cup is nothing but a marketing gimmick to get American stoner tourists to visit Amsterdam . It is a rip off and really has very little to do with the "best" weed.


Personally I think that during the cup is the worst possible time to visit Amsterdam (perhaps queens day is worse). In my humble opinion the best time to visit is during 5 days off dance music festival, when you can smoke by day and by night take in some of the worlds best electronic music. During football championships such as world cup and euros is also good as their is such a mix of nationalities you get a fantastic atmosphere (as long as dutch don't loose).

There are a couple in the summer months, but they are outside Amsterdam (close enough to stay in Amsterdam and visit them for day/weekend). Venues like melkweg, Heineken musuc hall and paradiso attract big name rock acts year round. All three have decent websites listing agenda months ahead.

Marketing gimmick? Absolutely...
As for the HTCC being designed for getting American stoner tourists to visit Amsterdam, I'd take it a leap further and state that it's to lure any stoner tourist to Amsterdam.
Nothing wrong with that, all things considered...
A rip off and very little to do with the "best" weed? To some people perhaps; there are those who to this day claim it's a sham, that the top shops "pay" to win.
Proof? Well... there isn't any as far as I know. But I don't know everything, so there's that...
