Defo should be, that stairway has been an accident waiting to happen for years...

I do not think they sue in the Netherlands, the same way Americans do.

In our Amsterdam rental a line was added to the agreement: if you have an accident - it is YOUR fault! We laughed about it, but it was added to deal with Americans... The only people on the planet who do not want to take responsibility for their actions.

Why not Stop in and ask the bud tender or a waitress about the girl that fell. They'll let you know.

I understand you point about how "some" in the US will sue because it's Monday and rainy, however...

The first time I walking in the place nearly 10 years ago I said that "hole to hell" was an accident waiting to happen... and it did.

Lastly, some law suits aren't about $$$... in this case, unsafe working conditions is a start.
Here in Europe, medical bills aren't an issue as is the case in the US, ...so there's that to consider when thinking about the number of law suits in the US.
Either way, changes NEED to be made... like years ago. Negligence, plain and simple, or not so...

Health and safety at work act.. ouch they will be lucky if they are open for the cup if that's reported correctly, and if that hatch was not reported in a risk assessment then some1 is getting sacked, and a hefty fine, the girl will get a nice payout.

Think the dutch took on the act early this year so the fact its pretty new might play for them but I doubt it, I have been doing a bit of research on health and safety as my new venture requires me to know it if I wish to employe staff.
