Your Top 5 Strains

Post by Mr Oranje »

We are looking into growing shortly and are interested in what everyone thinks the best strains are.

I saw recently Flowerberry Kush, Lemon Crystal had won the cup.

High!

Wow, what a wide question...
Top for what?

Flavor?
Stone?
Yield?
Easiness?
Mold/pests resistance?
etc...

Actually a strain that ticks all the boxes is pretty rare in my books!

First, if you are new to the grow game, I'd suggest you focus on the basics of cultivation: the growing environement (start small and low tech..see K.I.S.S method..not the rock band huh  ), and don't much bother with strains hype and stuff.Get yourself a few clones (saves a whole lot of hassle really).Dunno the availability of clones in WA though, but a good allround, forgiving strain is all you need.

Welcome to the farming world...growing decent to top weed is MUCH easier than many people think.there are a few threads in this section with good advices fr beginners.

Title is misleading, but in a harmless way... ;)
So much depends on what you want to grow and smoke...
Type - sativa/indica/ruderalis/afghanica/hybrid
Flowering period - short, medium, long
Size - are there size constraints to be considered
Equipment - if using anything other than high intensity discharge (Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium) or liquid emitting diode (LED), consider a small, short flowering indica. Anything else would be a MASSIVE waste of time, energy, and resources.

A personal note - have a look at breeders and strains that aren't affiliated with HTCC or coffee shop weed. Nothing wrong with either, however I've had my eyes OPENED when I began growing strains from such breeders as Bodhi and Gooeybreeder. FYI - Bodhi is located in the Seattle area... :)
In addition, I'm preparing to drop seeds from Granddaddy Purp (Phantom Cookies) and Sin City (White Nightmare).
On the horizon of future crops will include Sin City's Sin Mint (GSC variant) and something possibly from The Bean Boyz.
I only mentioned three strains, however if you look at other offerings from these breeders, you might finds something of interest.
Happy Farming...

Amnesia Haze, Kosher Kush, Killing Fields, Critical Jack Herer, Strawberry Diesel

These happen to be among my favorites at this time. However why you are growing, who you are growing for and to a certain extent your internal/external conditions may go a long way to pointing you to the strains that may be best for you to grow.

A little more info would help but not necessary. My main tip would be to avoid 'hyped' strains and pick the ones that work best for your own situation.
he wants to grow from seeds , so amnesia wont be your best pick . seed amnesia is probably not the same as the cutting found over here

+! for sannie or my favo Eskobar! Amazing strains for pennies!
Sannie 's shop is a great place to buy seeds.
I have also grown Ak 48 it was also very nice herb.
Both are good suggestions and worthy of a grow.

Her? I always thought Sannie was a guy?

Yo Rvan, try the Extrema (Chem d x Herijuana!) it's even better than straight Heri, much better taste and better vigour.
Just watch your environment as she might spit some nanners if you piss her off.
