It's already bad enough here that all bridges are closed, so I'm really curious how much worse it'll get.

Shouldn't be so bad for you. We had a lot of rain and trees were uprooted but it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. Definately not as bad as the storm of 87

Well of course not, but I cannot remember the last time the wind was this bad here.
Just went for a walk and 4 big trees have fallen on houses in just 300 meters of street and the heavy metal bike shelter from our neighbors has currently moved a couple of meters, pushed back everything that stood behind it, and is currently a meter in the air.

Wow I would have thought it would have blown it's self out by the time it got to you. I stand corrected. It really didn't seem that bad where I was. We have had two or three deaths but one of those was a 14 year old who thought it would be a good idea to go for a swim in a force 8 gale.

Netherlands will get it real bad due to the flatness of the land. No hills, valleys or mountains to slow the airflow down.

Today in the West of Scotland there was barely enough wind to fly a kite

Just the south of England, we got lucky in the middle of the country, that would have destroyed brum.
