Recycling roaches for bud
Re: Recycling roaches for bud
As a poor, young novice smoker in the late 70s, a couple of us would get up early on Saturday and Sunday to check the bank parking lot (between two fast food joints) to look for roaches. We would find half joints, pills, etc. after the local heads had partied hearty the night before.

to each its own,me and my friends collect over months then
re roll into a "gumbo" joint ...fresh paper ofcourse makes for a crazy high sometimes
depending on what you have smoked,i love those roaches as much as my kief box...
both reward the frequent smoker

Maybe it is more of a US thing ? I hear you guys tend to roll pure so at least when you are taking apart the roach ends you aren't having to deal with the old half burnt tobacco.

Good point. I was in they why would you do that camp, but if you only smoke pure it does make a bit more sense.Padge247 wrote:Maybe it is more of a US thing ? I mean it is just a though I am not sure. Personally I try not to put any bud in the last 1-1.5 cm of my joint, as it is never something I especially enjoy smoking. When I roll with a group of people I tend to change this.

You aint much of an old time toker if you haven't rolled a few roaches up in times of extreme need
What a long strange trip it is.

That is exactly what I do. Fat end for smoking roach end for throwing away. Still some people say that the roach is the best part as all the oil collects there.Padge247 wrote:I mean it is just a though I am not sure. Never been that bad for me to go through the bin for butts, so far. In times of drought I just go to the dam for a smokespidergawd wrote:You aint much of an old time toker if you haven't rolled a few roaches up in times of extreme need.

Generation joint only pure with hasj. No Tobaccoo . Makes for a fine joint imo. Tobacco hasj joints are smoked then discarded.
Not long now....

Just a different generation or different culture I suppose. I mean the next morning we would just pull them out of the ash tray and put them in a jar. Its not like we waked and baked with them everyday. But when we did break it out, it was good for a serious killer buzz having a few different kinds of weed in one doob. I admit I just put them in a bowl now. Even being older I still think why throw away a couple of good tokes?RvanSteensel wrote:yuck
I had never even heard of people putting tobacco in joints until I started researching my 1st trip to Netherlands in 2009 and I'd smoked weed daily since 1980. I thought 'what a bunch of fucking weirdo's'. It's weed, why would you put shitty tobacco in there? But, I just figured it was a different culture and that's the way some people grew up.

Re: Recycling roaches for bud
When I was a teenager, me and my mates collected all our roaches in a massive tin for those 'rainy days'. We did use tobacco but we also were poor kids with no money and not much care for the qualities of weed that we enjoy now like specific tastes and effects - we just wanted to get fucked up..
These days I smoke my spliffs to the roach so there's nothing left to dig up later
