Coffeeshops near Metro stations

Post by Bifton »

Hey all. Anyone know of or can suggest any Coffeeshops that are close to Metro stations. I will be using the Metro alot on my next trip and have already located shops around Nieumarkt, Waterlooplein and Weesperplein but any suggestions will be welcome...

Nieuwmarkt is kinda obvious but I would say HSBotM (nice toastie and milkshakes here), Green Place (controversial at the moment, but I had some pretty tasty shoreline here a couple of weeks ago), Jolly Joker (I have never been, and it doesn't have a great deal said about it on here, but 2 different group of friends have it recommended to them, perhaps more as a spot to chill and smoke than for there product)

Not really sure about Waterlooplein, is Bluebird not quite near by ? Kadinsky near Nes I guess is quite close.

Weesperplein, I guess the main is Het Ballonetje, if you went north you could get to Happy Days at the end of Dappermarkt, Smoke Palace is North East of there but I don't know if I trust there exotic strains and central price. If you head south and cross the Amstel you could get to Yo-yo, Carmona, Ibiza, D&L, all within 10minish walking distance (though it mite be easier to do this from Wibaustraat).

Wibaustraat, ok the nearest coffeeshop is The Power which I haven never heard anything positive about so I have avoided. Best bet would be to head south and cross the Amstel and visit De Pijp (at least the north-east side of it), this is probably a better stop to do this at than Weesperplein I think (walk down the side of the Albert Heijn and you will get to the bridge that crosses the Amstel). There was Coffeeshop El Yamama but I think that has closed down, I never went in.

Amstel Station, options running thin now, you need to cross the Amstel so head south/west. Nearish are Happy Days (never been to, it is just across the bridge over the amstel near the Amstel metro station), Top Weazle (keep walking straight after you cross the bridge, down a left side street, bought the Top Weazle strain which was a pretty potent indica, looked like it mite be nice to chill out in), Papillon (turn right at some point after walking straight after crossing the bridge, decentish bud, but not amazing, didn't like the smoking area personally), Greenhouse Tollstraat (turn right quite soon after crossing the bride I think, never been to this branch).

Not sure of any coffeeshops near any other metro stations as you head out east, hope that helps !

No worse than any other form of public transport in amsterdam and never felt close to being mugged at any time.
