Thought I'd post a quick log up....

Thursday

Arrived in Centraal CS about 2pm, then had the fun task of finding my mate who's phone wasn't working. He had arrived on a much earlier flight from Liverpool, so had been in coffeeshops most of the morning. After just five minutes by random chance we bumped into each other which was lucky considering the size of the station.

Went back to the apartment and rolled up some Barney's G13 haze my friend had bought earlier. Smoked that on the roof terrace, had a quick shower and wandered to the Nes. A friendly welcome as always from the Nes, and bought the old favourites, Stella Blue and WW Ice hash, and my mate bought some Sour Diesel I think. Smoked in the Nes for a while, then braved the crappy weather and walked over to Grey Area to try and grab some Mean Martian Green, but they had sold out which sucked (f'kin C/Cup). I ended up buying a few grams of LA something and Grey Haze which is one of my fav. smokes.

On the way back to the apartment we got some pizza and those raisin dough ball things that the Dutch have during xmas, they rock, perfect stoner food :D Smoked and chilled out for a bit, then we went to the mini-supermarket for some food, and stopped by Greenhouse centrum aswell. Greenhouse's Bio menu was tiny, with just three strains which was a bit shit, as they normally have 5-8 at least. Got some Carmello hash, and some sweet widow from here, which was an OK smoke, nothing to write home about though. The hash was quite tasty, but I prefer softer dark hashes really.

Half-way edit: Really nice stone off the hash, just had some of it :D

Smoked the apartment out for the rest of the evening, my friend's flight was at 6am so he passed out quite early, and I watched random euro satellite until the early hours which was pretty entertaining as I was so blazed :)

Friday

Got up at about 10am as the apartment host was coming round to take payment. Got that sorted, then had a few joints and finished up the WW Ice in the pipe. Walked to centraal CS to meet another friend who's flight had just arrived (he couldn't get thursday off work). Walked back to the apt. with him and rolled him something to start his hol. After that we walked to Nes again. Dave was in today so I had a quick chat, signed the book (I was wasted so it's only about 3 words!) and got some more Stella and some Bubblegum/Diesel which was really good, nice cure and tasted excellent.

After a quick drink and a spliff we headed to the supermarket to get some food, then onto Dampkring. It was packed so we just grabbed some smoke and left. I was starting to get hazy by this point so I'm not too sure what I bought, but it definately included some Nepalese temple ball and pineapple haze. It was pissing it down when we went outside again, and we were soaked by the time we got to Dam square, so once again we went to the Nes. It was also packed inside, but we sat in the outside bit and stayed for a few hours until we were finally too cold to stand it any longer. Back to the apartment, more smoking then sleep!

Saturday

Woke up early, had to go meet another friend who flew in (couldn't get thursday or friday off!). Smoked a few joints and watched some DVD's for a while, had some lunch and a shower, then headed to Grey Area so my mate could stock up. Whilst we were in Grey Area I got a bit more Grey Haze, and also some Grey Berry. I remember saying something about MMG again, and John pulled about 10-15 prerolled joints out, the last Martian in the City! I grabbed a couple of those, and John lent us a map and some directions to the museum area (although I've been 6 times now I've nevr done anything cultural)

Back at the apartment we smoked the MMG joints and rolled a couple up to take with us to the museum and set off (3 of us anyway, the guy who arrived this morning had been raving all night so decided to get a bit of sleep) We walked to Dam square then decided we were lost so we jumped in one of the bike rickshaw things and got the guy to pedal us to the Van Gogh museum. When we got to the museum I'd sobered up a bit, so we hit Vondel park for a couple of joints, then went back and wandered round the museum, trying to suppress the giggles that were caused by pretty much anything at that point (One of the classic jokes included saying "Let's Van Go" at the end of each museum section...high class humour you'll understand) After the museum we got a cab to the market, and picked up 3 strips of Crystal Clear from Katsu, then we wandered to Club Media and bought some Hippie and some 3 TJE (hadn't heard of before?) I hadn't been to either shop before, so didn't know what to expect, we didn't stay in either as they were both packed and we wanted to get back to central. One tram ride and a short walk later and we were smoking Hippie back at the apartment. It's possibly one of my best smokes of the whole trip, really nice taste and high, trich covered buds and the best cure I have ever seen, this stuff was perfect weed 8)

After this, me and another guy went to a chinese resteraunt for some food (I went there a couple of years back, and it was awesome so I've been meaning to go again) then onto the Nes for a drink and smoke. Whilst we were in there we got chatting to an old American guy who had a Husky dog with him which he asked us to hold whilst he chatted to a couple of people, which was no mean feat as I was wrecked and Huskies are damn strong! I managed to hold on luckily, and after a while we went back to the apartment as two of the guys we were with wanted to watch American football (don't know why?!). I returned to the Nes yet again with another friend, and we met up with J-Bomb from the forums and smoked and chatted outside until closing time. J-Bomb came back to the apartment and smoked with us for a while, and I finally went to bed aout 5am.

Sunday

Last day, had to clear up the apt. and pack our stuff up, laid around for a while smoking, then we went off in search of stamps and other posting paraphernalia. Eventually found a little shop on the corner of Nes Straat which would sell stamps if you bought postcards from them (which we needed anyway). Got some pizza, walked back and sorted a few letters for posting back to the UK.

Walked to centraal station about 6.30, got into Schipol for 7, checked in, bit of food, last smoke outside the airport then flew back home. No customs on the way in which was nice as I had a few grams of hash on me (Grey Area Nepalese temple ball, Crystal Clear and Dampkring Nepal) and my friend had some prerolled joints leftover. Drove home, smoked, started to arrange next trip

Hey nice write-up man. Getting me excited for my next trip!

Is Vondel Park the huge grassy area by the Van Gogh museum then? With the "I Amsterdam" sign? I thought that was a different park altogether. Here I've been saying how I needed to get to Vondel Park and it turns out I've been there several times...LOL

More details on this Chinese place please! I haven't had some good Chinese in several months, wouldn't mind hitting up a decent place next week.

Rev, it was nice meeting you, even if only in passing, at Nes last Friday night. Glad to hear you had a good time -- and now, I wish I hadn't passed on the raisin-dough-ball thing! Hippie from Club Media, which is a vastly underrated shop, sounds nice. I think readers should take your sage advice and try it. Wish I had known!

And no, that isn't Vondelpark, it's just a big park.

Yeah or a couple days

Maybe there's one or two of those pre-rolleds left...that's all I want, just to try a bit. I should've have skipped gray area when I was in town at the beginning of the month...that's like the ultimate sin in Amsterdam. I missed Nes too which I swore I wouldn't :(

I'll have to check the ACD page for Club Media, I don't recall seeing it before...but that Hippy sounds nice based on this report.

Does anyone know the name of those raisin dough balls? I'd like to try some if I'm able to notice them on my own.

And yeah...didn't think that was Vondel Park...maybe I misinterpreted the original post?

Nah, just me being a retard, I thought it was all connected to Vondel park, it was the "I Amsterdam" sign one. I can't remember the name of the ball things, got them from Renee's (best bakery in Amsterdam) only 50cents each aswell. I stayed in a different apartment this time, it was a bit procey but I only booked it 3 days before we arrived so we were limited for choice. It was amazing though, far too good for stoners like me and my mates ;) http://www.houseboathotel.nl/accommodat ... _rent_a026

There might well be some of the pre-rolls left, they're not on the menu, if you ask nicely though... :D

Edit, missed some bits...

Maz, the GHE apartments don't have a safe IIRC, but you're the only one with access to the apt. so it should be fairly safe. I would reccomend the apartment I stayed in this time over the GHE ones though, it was bigger, cleaner and classier :D

VP, the Chinese is the big 3 storey one across the road from Greenhouse centrum, we just looked for one with lots of Chinese people eating there and picked it the first time, and it's awesome. Order number 55 I think, combination special...wow :D

Hahah, that's the best strategy for finding a good Chinese place innit?

I'll try it out - hopefully it's within my budget!
