I like the feel of this place its just so damn crowded! had to stop by for a gram of the G13 haze which i must say is a very nice strain - well cured buds and gives a strong haze buzz. also got some sweet tooth, morning glory and laughing buddha - the best being morning glory IMO, my last trip i though laughing buddha was the best but it was completely different this time around, this time it looked and tasted boring, morning glory and sweet tooth both well cured the morning just smoked a little nicer. the budtender was nice - i remembered him from OHDs youtube video - always strange to see someone in person. Overall, great shop and weed but its popularity pushes up the prices.
Dont believe the hype...

Was in Barneys this weekend (late night Friday). Bought a gram of Laughing Buddah (very dry and definately not a gram, but good for a laugh) and some White Widow- very nice!! Not my favourite coffee shop though, too many coming in and out, a bit hectic for a quiet smoke!! Pink Floyd- just down the street is much more chilled and the dope better (Dirty Jack....mmmmmm)..

Disappointing, although not surprising. After reading the reviews here before my visit I wasn't expecting the best service in the world and my low expectations were met! 09:45 Tuesday morning in early Jan, it was quite busy although still places available. Purchased 1g of Laughing Buddha, which was nice, waiter explained that she didn't start her shift for 15 mins so would be with us then. 35 mins later still no sign of an order being taken, although both waiting staff were just standing chatting. I'm an easy going bloke and had spent my time getting stuck into the Laughing Buddha so I wasn't that bothered, although my mate was getting quite fed up.
So, we left and a found a few doors down Popeye, niceish cooked breakfast which did the trick and a complementary blast on their 'peace pipe' (bong), very nice too.
My advice to you re Barney's - really, I wouldn't bother.

i've been to barnys for breaky but never got any smoke from there .i think it's ok to eat ,smoke then move on but i couldn't sit there for too long, i aslo don't like the way thay move people about from table to table i understand it's a small place but stll a pain, the food is ok too not great but ok, i think the main problem is that it don't seem to have a vibe where you want to stay for hours where other shops do

If you're really Jonesing for a hashbrown cake and a cold pig slab, may I suggest the Egg McMuffin combo at McDonald's instead? Oh, and the scrambled eggs are boiled, then scrambled. Fortunately, marijuana inhibits the gag reflex.
The Willie Nelson, at E12 a gram, or some such outrageous price, was average, which is more than can be said of the breakfast or atmosphere.
We have a friend tagging along with us for 4-20, and if he insists on Barney's as a place he wants to visit, we'll suck it up and go. But if he doesn't bring it up, I'll never cast a shadow on the place again.

went to Barneys on 13th Feb, just off the plane and we were starving. Went into the shop (it was empty apart from two guys standing up the back) and were immediately asked for ID - my husband is 30 and I am 27... Didn't even bother to dig out the passports, just left.
I used to like Barneys, it was OK for breakfast. But they obviously didn;t think we were good enough for the shop. No wonder they were empty!

well i went twice on my last trip..
the first time was on feb 13 as well.. at about 8 A.M till about 10:30 AM .
the second time was on saturday at about noon..
i tried out the g13 haze, morning glory, honey b, red diesel and white widow and the kashmiri hash and caramello cream hash.
the first trip in there it was very empty as someone has mentioned before, so it was perfect in my opinion!! i got talking with the budtender who took out all the weeds they had and i got to see them all beside eachother!, pretty damn cool. i just got some toast and jam to eat with a fresh squeezed juice, and it was pretty good. there was only 1 dude when i got in there and he was very friendly to me at least, and then an asian dude came in and started serving buds as well..he seemed nice as well..
the weeds were pretty good, a bit expensive but ah well they were quality. the hashes were great. i really enjoyed the caramello cream as it tasted very nice and bubbled up like crazy when burned. nice cerebral high as well.
The next time i came back there on a saturday at about noon, it was soooo busy but my girlfriend and i managed to get a nice 4 person seat and no sat beside us for quite a while... we decided to get the breakfast. i got the irish breakfast which was very good, and my lady got the pancakes with fresh fruit. they were ok. this time it was a different dealer, but he still seemed pretty friendly for being so busy! I also saw Derry for a while and chatted breifly, he was dropping off some of the goods!!!!!
so ya , overall i enjoy this place and would go back. the emptier the better as it can be more relaxing. i also noted how clean there bongs and pipes were, and the ease of using the volcano.

I still like to eat breakfast at Barneys, its a nosalgia trip for me.
For the same reason that the Ace cafe on the North Circular attracts bikers, it was once a greasy spoon meeting place now its a place for nostalgia trips.
Barneys brings back the memories, and I must admit that my mornings in Amsterdam are probably the only real lucid memories I have.

Rating: Loved the shop!
What can ya say. This is one of the few places we went to more then once while running our coffeeshop crawl. Now to be fair I went to both the actual coffeeshop and the breakfast bar. Both were absolutely fantastic! At the coffeeshop we got the Barney's CCcup entries, G-13 haze, Carmella Cream, and some Barney Rubble. I also went back for some Sweet Tooth 9euro/gram.
At the Breakfast bar we could smoke to our hearts content. Then we would proceed to chow down a wonderful fare of bacon, eggs, toast, coffee, ymmmm. Truly a stoners paradise. Although a little crowded (What place in Amsterdam isn't a little crowded) we really enjoyed the food and the service.
It will be a must revist if I manage to get back this year.

Awesome. The food is great and the service is superb. Don't get there too early thinking you will be able to get started and burn off your jet lag, they don't open until around 10.
Barney's- a certain reverence

I have always enjoyed Barneys. The price of the weed seems to go up alot but there is always some really amazing finds on and off their menu especially when they have a new supply in.
As far as customer service/ comfort/ etc... being an American I get so sick of phony smiles and 'the customer is god' mentality.. I kind of like minding my p's and q's and making sure that I do everything right.
To me, walking in Barney's has always been about visiting a memorial.. alot of sacrifices have been made to be able to do this, and so having a quick stop over and paying my dues is a special experience..
I know it has become quick commercial, especially with the Cup scene, but there is still an ambiance that cant be matched, a certain 'reverence' that if you understand it, you revel in it without anything bothering you.
Walk in with your ID out, shut the door softly behind you, smile, say dank u wel, share a table, approach the dealer/ waitress when they are free, and it will be a GREAT experience.
just IMHO
