I'd just go to the post office (theres a few in Amsterdam) and get them to do it, wont cost anymore and you'll be sure they get the right postage.

when i bought postcards the guy at the store (one of those lil cigarette/snack food/soda shops) asked if i wanted stamps and then mentioned somehting about what kind......we eventually figure it out, put the stamps on the cards dropped them in a random box and recieved people started receiving them a day after we were back (mailed two days before leaving).

Post office would be the safest bet if something HAS to get somewhere by a certian time (bills).
