Lafe's Nov-Dec 2006 trip: Day Two

Post by Lafe »

So..........

More of the same, of course. Please keep in mind I had two travelling companions and I can't move around as much as I do solo, but I did manage to get them out and about to a fair extent.

Thursday, 30 November 2006

Started at Rookies at 10:00 AM. Here is the stash after the end of the first day, taken first thing on second day:

I now carry some small stickers and a pen in my day bag to label my purchases. If you use just a sharpie or similar, it tends to smear. The labels worked out wonderfully.

"The Rookies" Hindu Kush:

Next stop is De Dampkring for some John Sinclair at 11:30. It was fairly frosty with a spicy taste, and a good up sativa high. This really turned out to be the Indica trip, but having some nice sativa around to pep things up is a good thing.

We then cruised over to Amnesia for some coffee at around 12:15 but did not buy. Later we would pick up some Honey B - anyone headed to Amsterdam should get some Honey B straightaway.

Next stop is Grey Area at around 13:30 for .5g C13 and 1g Matanuska Tundra, reputed to be a derivative of Alaskan Thunderfuck. It fucking well hammered me, no doubt. It is a strong Indica and sent my head reeling.

C13 is a sativa, and I saved it for later, meaning "when I needed to get my ass moving again".

We then cruised to the Melkweg cafe for some beer and tostis. The following (poor) photo is what they were using for music playback in the cafe. It appears to be an iPod Nano, and the cable to the left is the audio output while the cable to the right is the power supply. Nice setup, Melkweg. I trust the concert hall is better equipped :-)

Then it's over the Vondelpark to Het Blaus Theehuis for some coffee and some chillout on a cool, wet day. Despite the weather, it was a nice hangout. We arrived there around 15:30.

The little guy is ready for Sinter Klaas :-)

Leaving Vondelpark to the west at around 16:30, we stopped in Tweedy but bought nothing but coffee and juice, and naturally sparked up.

Back over to Rookies at 17:00 for a purchase of 1g PP#1, their Power Plant/White Widow offering. Into the Volcano it went and after a couple of hours of hard vaping, around the way to Wok to Walk for some dinner.

Then we went back to Rookies and met up with Lesley, my local friend there I met on my first trip ever. God help us, Lesley is here and the party is on. Alcohol included. God help us.

We started on the PP#1, got into the Matanuska Tundra, and about that time Les decided it was time for shots of tequila. Now our travelling partner (recall I was there with Mrs. Lafe and our friend), he doesn't drink much. Like a glass of wine a month, and maybe a margarita on NYE.

So here's Les with four shots of Sauza (and you know they pour them to the rim), and we downed them. I had been drinking beer slowly all day (that's how I roll.... :-), wasn't drunk by any stretch of the imagination, but the tequila, oh how I didn't need it.

So we vaped up some G13 and John Sinclair to get rolling again. It worked. Then Les ordered up some Jagermeister. Okie-dokie. I'll have another beer while I'm at it. This continued for maybe 2.5 - 3 hours. About that time travelling companion decides we need to load up a pipe with some of the Polm from Rookies, along with some Matanuska Tundra.

The hammer then fell. Hard. Mrs. Lafe headed upstairs to crash, and travelling companion and I did the smart thing and followed Les up the street to a really loud bar called "Pirates" where he knew someone. That place had the loudest reggae with the most God-awful sound I have ever heard. That systems sounds like complete shit, but at least it's so loud you have to shout over it. Sweeeeeeeeet. We stayed a while, left Les there, and stumbled up the street for some sleep. Here's what I think is a pretty good representation of what we ended up with at the end of the night, taken the next morning:

I will put up a review of CS Easy Going in Haarlem separately. In fact, I think I will do that now :-)

More later..........
