mmm...
memory not all that, but does sound familiar... a message with AzLaker if i'm correct...
I got a few things to do... and in no pariclular order...
1: Friday April 20th - All day crawl of Amsterdam coffeeshops to arrive at Nes Cafe to celebrate 4/20 @ 4:20pm with DC and "The Book" (unless 4:20pm was to be elsewhere (De Kuil - which might be too busy?)
2: Harlem (maybe during the day on Saturday 21st)
3: Canal Criuse (maybe during the evening of the Saturday 21st)
4: Vondel Park (maybe Sunday morning/lunchtime)
There was something else but I just can't remember...
I know we all need our space and I'm sure we'll all go our own ways with things we want to do whilst there but it would be good to do some organised things "as a group"... obviously those that don't want to, don't have to. But I think having a couple/few group outings would be cool... AND working around DC's shifts too

Nice list of things to do Rez., I will look into the smoking canal tour in December and have that all squared away when I get back, like price, how longs the tour, etc.. Harleem sound good to us also. A day in Harleem then a nice evening boat tour. Will try and do De Kuils again for 4:20pm. If we get there 1 1/2 hours before hand, we shouldn't have a problem with getting the large table that sits in the back.
Look at us, still 10 months away and we act like we were going next week. AzLaker

Nice one Az'... thats the funniest thing about this trip and the thread about it... Just think how damn good it's going to be !!
I've searched for "smoker friendly" canal tours and something came up in a review about somewhere just outside Centraal Station and The Dolphins Coffeeshop... I've e-mail Dolphins as there website is not up and running and am waiting for the reply... one point was that most of the tours were a tourist trap... I don't thik that will be the case with the "smoker friendly" tours...?
Az' are you traveling alone or with friends/family ?

Bringing the wife along for this trip Rez. I've already told her, No museums, No shopping, (unless someone else wants to go with her). Just 4 days of smoking herb, meeting new friends and hitting that pastry shop across from De Kuils's.
The wife said, "that's fine with her". No wonder we've been together almost 30 years. Dam I Love My Wife. AzLaker

I've no idea what I'll be doing next April, by that time the Nes wont be serving alcohol anymore. So it'll be interesting to see exactly what's going on by then....

All you lucky English, able to ferry_train to Dam for under a hundred bucks round trip. It's more like $700 round trip from here in the states. ='( Honestly, if I don't wind up moving to Amsterdam in the future, It's gonna be the UK. =D

Hi 711, the airport I fly from is 30 mins drive, my flight is 45 mins and the time to get off the plane, onto the train, into town drop my bags and into a CS... another hour...?
On a good run with checking-in an hour before flight, (quick pre-flight J or two), I can be in Amsterdam in a lot less than 4 hours, door to stoned

Lucky you.
I've got a 1 hour drive, a 2 hour flight, another 5 hour flight, a 1 hour train ride, a 5 hour ferry, and another 2 hour train ride with 8 hours of waiting time mixed all in there. 24 hours total, with only 2 real chances to eat and sleep. =/ Leave at 6 pm and arrive 6pm the next day.
It's only about 9 hours if I fly direct to Amsterdam, but that can cost as much as $200 more, and, well, my money is precious. =P

in that respect I feel a little guilty... blame my parents, my dad has been offered jobs in New Zeland, Canada and the Isle of Mann... Thankfully he liked his job in London so thats were we lived... It's now my home.

I will defintiely be heading to Harlem somethime during my saty and if other s are interested i would gladly go with a group (espceially if someone in the group no there way to/around Harlem).
Hi Mazdog,
Yes difinately count me in on the Harlem trip... I too have got a little list of "to-do's" for the 4/20 trip, Harlem being one of them... As you say, it would be a great advantage to have somebody to "lead" us...
I think the Saturday will be the best choice (for me anyhow)... I arrive on the Thursday (19th) early eve, and go home Sunday (22nd) late afternoon...
If I make the trip (can't say yes or no at this time) then I'd gladly lead everyone into Haarlem and beyond, I've stopped there several times and know my way around quite well now!
