Syrian Uprising Boosts Lebanon Pot Trade



As reported by Agence France-Presse, both Lebanese pot farmers and government officials noted that in 2013 Lebanon's military did not conduct its annual bulldozer eradication of pot plants, primarily due to the Syrian Civil War, which originated in 2011.

According to pot grower Abu Sami, “This year, the harvest was abundant, and the authorities have left us alone because they are otherwise occupied.”

Joseph Skaff, Lebanon's drug enforcement chief, informed AFP: “There was no destruction of growing [marijuana] this year … The Syrian crisis played a major role in that.”

Lebanese cannabis cultivators told AFP that local and foreign demand for pot has increased more than 50 percent since 2012, with the majority of marijuana being sold in Syria. Syria has become a prime conduit for drugs exported to Europe and other destinations. Profits are also more substantial in Syria and abroad. According to sources, 40 grams of pot (slightly less than an ounce-and-a-half) would sell for $20 in Lebanon but fetches $100 in Syria and a whopping $500 in Turkey.

However, there is a downside for local growers in the flourishing Lebanese pot trade – the abundance of weed has driven down prices in Lebanon from $1,000 a kilogram (2.2 pounds) to $500.

Guess that means good news for us Red Lebanese Fans

@trashcanman thanks bud shame we miss! I've seen plenty of comments about bluebird for hash on here lately so it's on the to see list.

So, with everything sorted and ready I have just under 40 hrs to take off and I'm like a coiled spring!!! Been rolling j's that may as well be a fag just dipped in the bag and smoked so the tolerance is coming right down. Been getting hold of some blue dream and its mindblowing so last night had to go see another lad for some weaker smoke. Not the nicest but the stones enough to take the edge off.
Got more time on me hands than I need now so I'll post some pics of these along with some of my stoned wandering.
Can't wait to cut the leash!!!!!

As promised a few pics from around n about. When I'm on my own I like to get a tram out to anywhere then spend a couple of hours walking back in. Most of the time i just end up wobbling along in a haze but sometimes I actually think to take a snap.

View from belle Vue hotel rooftop smoking area isn't great. Never had a problem toking here but with the wind you're better off going for a walk.

?? Caught some 'youffs' smoking in here. I was in a haze when this thing caught my eye, are these council type parks, where we usually have swings and slides, or has someone just built it??
I found myself in a bit of a stare as I walked by wondering, then realised someone was staring back. Suddenly fag ends got flicked in all directions and they bailed. Just to the left of the lampost you can see a straggler walking away, head down and hasty. And I was thinking about joining them!!

Walking through vondelpark for the first time looking for a quiet spot to roll. Walked around some bushes and found this slice of heaven. Came back to this spot about 4 times in 3 days and just baked in the sun. A beautiful area.





I was looking for tweedy and after half hour of walking up and down eerste constantijn huyjensstraat I stopped for a cold'n at cafe helmers. Nice beer and the food menu looked ok with varieties of omelettes and sandwiches among other things. Quite a few people eating when I went in.
After asking for directions to tweedy the barlady got quite excited as she told me she was a big fan of the place. I thought about going back to ask if the bar was toker friendly, as cigarette smoking was permitted, but I never did. Couldn't believe how close I was!!



Unsure if this is kashmir lounge or not?? I called in a few cs around that area. Maybe one of you recognises it.
