It turns out I like "reefer" joints ?

Just back from a winter escapade in the dam!
Staying near to Siberië, I went there a few times, and in addition to a gram of something on their menu, I'd get their pre-rolled pure "Reefer" joint to smoke at the bar.
I'm a daily smoker for nearly a decade now, so I imagine my tolerance is quite high. But those pre-rolled joints cut right through the tolerance and hooked me up in magical and wonderful ways.
I took the "reefer" labeling to suggest that the joints were made with left-over shake, and when I asked the budtender, she said that was the case, and a lot of purple haze turns up in it.
I think the purple haze was the cheapest thing on the menu, 5eu/g.
The 420 Cafe was also selling joints with the same name, and when asking about it, the budtender said a similar thing, the hazes turn up in it a lot, and fruity flavors. I enjoyed one here too w/ similar results.
I get the feeling that the reefer joints are sold as bottom of the barrel, cheap seats, like getting an instant coffee when the freshest beans are at your disposal.
I sampled some of the ~13eu/g around town, but I kept coming right back to the reefer joints.
So what is it with these things? Is it the fact that it's got a little bit of everything, and maybe I got some good luck of the draw in terms of potency? Maybe when I smoke from a pipe at home, I'm not smoking as much as I do in one of those long-ass joints they roll... though the same amount of a NY Diesel joint hardly showed up to the party.
The experience does make me question paying more for "premium" strains, though I don't rule it out completely. Similarly, I was quite excited by the AK-47 at Popey's for 7eu/g... deep, potent... more so than what I'm used to, and cheaper too.
Anyone else prefer the reefer joints or know why they come on so strong?
Cheers!
