Eindhoven in Mid-May

Post by rcr »

My wife and I will be in Eindhoven for two days in mid-May. I realize that tourists cannot buy in the coffeeshops there so the question is, what is the closest town where we can buy. I hope that the closest burg does not turn out to be Amsterdam. We have been there numerous times so there is nothing more for us to see or do there; and I don't like the idea of having to drive an hour-and-a-half just to go to a coffeeshop.

Thanks.

You could do worse than take the train to Nijmegen. Leave about 1000 and return at 2000. takes 1hr 15 direct and will be 50E for two returns. Gives you a full day and you can fill your pockets too.

Recent postings indicate that the coffeeshops in both Utrecht and Nijmegen can't sell to tourists. Is that the situation now for 2014 (especially May)? One site indicated that Arnhem doesn't ban sales to tourists. Is Arnhem open?
