First time in Amsterdam
Hi all, we are coming to Amsterdam for the first time- kind of a second honeymoon. I am a smoker (I joke that I've been stoned since 85 but that's mostly true lol) but my wife and partner is not although she is (very) tolerant of me. Bud Tender suggested Nes for us which is quite close to our hotel and a trip to Haarlem which we will certainly take. We like to talk about history, philosophy, art and culture and would love to meet others that are similar. We want to make the most of our 7 night stay (Jan29-Feb7) and meet friends. I would like to say hi to the whole forum and I hope we can meet some people while we travel. If you're feeling the same, let us know! Ciao!

Thanks for the tip! It seems like we can buy once and go almost anywhere! I think you just solved a bit of a budgeting problem! We will definitely take a look.

Re: First time in Amsterdam
The museumkaart is brilliant. Museums in NL are irritating, for the most part: worth seeing, but if you pay the full entrance price, nine out of ten times you feel obscurely cheated. The pass enables you to see what you want, when you want, and if nothing looks interesting when you're there, for whatever reason, just move on and come back the next day.

You have been posted on the January and February Whos In Town pages.Can-Couple wrote:(Jan29-Feb7)
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop (your favorite)
and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to show up, if they do you'll have a
T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your favorite coffeeshop!
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.
I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.
Enjoy
