Never visited this CS. as said above its always a sad day when anywhere has to stop selling green.

Agreed. I've said this before, but actually, as a pub where you can freely smoke weed and have a fairly lively night out, it was ok. Just dont buy weed from there. I believe this place was popular simply because for a lot of young Brit, American, and Aussie tourists, it was a pub/bar setting similar to 'back home' with the added benefit of being able to smoke weed. Which is what most young Brits/US/Oz tourists are looking for in Amsterdam. It certainly catered for a market, and a large one at that.

I got weed there once. Even though I was really clueless back then I knew it was shit. Couldn't even smoke it. The bar I went to a couple of times. They had some attractive and friendly servers. The drinks were expensive. Clean place could smoke weed there too. Served a purpose. Must have made a fuck load of cash.
Because of the type of place and location they were pretty firm about some rules as I recall. Especially in the coffee shop. People do not like this on ACD. People talk and the whole thing snowballs. I think it lacks a soul there but so do a lot of other places.

They used to have a pool table in the first floor bar, but it got taken over by new owners a few years back and went steadily downhill as a 'pub where you can smoke'. Pool table got taken out and the writing was on the wall.
