dec 07/jan 08 trip...

Post by onelovemarley »

yeah I know i'm a little in advance  but i have a couple quick questions for my friends overseas (75% of forum).

My best lad :D is a huge futbol fan and i was wondering if the futbol season has already started by december or january. Was thinking about adding a day or two to fly somewhere else and check out a match.

I was hoping someone could also give a couple of the best venues to take in a match. I was thinking as a group of americans taking in their first match we need to do it right, good venue is key.

A good website to check out the futbol schedule would also be greatly appreciated.

One love

forgot to add we were planning a trip to amsterdam for 6 days after the cup while it's a little less crowded but hopefully while they still have some of the strains they submitted. Thinkin late december to january. We can handle the cold..

If what you are calling futball is soccer, Amsterdam has it's own team. you might be interested in the team's US site. I believe they do have a schedule there.

When you get your dates confirmed, let me know and I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.

What FBN said is quite true...an alternative would be to catch a cheap flight on a budget airline to the UK to see a Premiership match in the Land where it all started

They play at the amsterdan arena, there is a tram i think that will take you there, and the game itself lasts 90 minutes 45 each way. But check there fixtures first as they, like a few other european teams have a 2 or 3 week break in december.

Scuse me? Soccer? Just because you Americans call it that doesn't mean it's called it!

Football.... played with a ball and the foot.

Ajax is the local team to Amsterdam and they play in The Amsterdam Arena....... WIKI

Here in the US we use a not quite round ball to play football. That silly ovoid ball would be a real hoot in soccer/futball.
