Amsterdam Trip with Mrs

Post by jermaindefoe »

Hi all

Am travelling on valentines weekend , been to amsterdam before, 5 or 6 years ago when i was a proper stoner (went as a group of 4 lads). Since then I completely stopped smoking weed, met a girl blah blah blah.

Recently just started smoking again to relax after stressful days in my job so don't look to smoke to get wasted. It also means i only need a couple of tokes on a spliff to get relaxed :p

My questions are this;

1) Are the coffee shops going to be friendly places to take the Mrs! She's not going to appreciate going to a place packed with blokes and getting ogled at :D

2) when i buy my weed (will ask for medium strength indica) will they expect me to blaze the lot in there! i won't be able to blaze at my hotel so not sure what id do with the rest!!!!

I should be able to answer my questions but i remember VERY little from my first trip :D

Thanks

You should look around the forum for threads posted by others in situations similar to yours. Here's one (1) example:

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... =9&t=28167

Search for first time in Amsterdam posts.

Here's one that should give you some clues about what to expect. It focuses on January, but February won't be that different.

You might want to use Google Maps to see what coffeeshops are close to where you are staying and then check the reviews to learn more about them and identify the ones that fit your/your lady's style the best.

hi there! i'll be in amsterdam a week after you guys, literally counting down the days now!

i think the particular vibe varies with coffeeshop to coffeeshop, but for the most part i'd say go ahead and take your girlfriend into any coffeeshop. i've even been drinking in the red light district with both my girlfriend and my sister. it was a bit unusual, but no problems arose

as for the weed, you can do what you like with it once you've bought it. smoke a little, smoke a lot, or piss off without smoking a 0.01g of it. if your gonna be hanging around for an extended period of time, it is considered good sport to purchase some drinks or something, every now and then.

and as the post above suggests, there are plenty of similar posts to yours, so the best thing you can do is have a bit of a goosey around this website, which has a wealth of information for folks such as your self.

In Yo-Yo you'll find some medium strength outdoor indica and a nice "at home" vibe...
Not packed, dark and smokey like coffeeshops can be...

I second the recommendation of Yo-Yo. Siberië and La Tertulia are other good coffeeshops that non-smokers seem to like.

This was passed on to me when I asked about a trip with the Mrs. So I will pass on to you. She loved it. I smoked in peace at a shop for a bit, then back together, and both relaxed.

Gaucho's menu: http://www.gauchosgrill.nl/menu/argentijnse_steaks.html

That's typical prices for most of the fancy steak places although there is lots around which will do an impressive dish for half the price :D

booked here for the saturday night (15th) so thanks for the recommendation - will definately let you know how we find it.

For the 14th a friend told us that the jamie oliver inspired fifteen restaurant is worth a go so we booked up for there also!

Really looking forward to the trip now :)

De kas is a foodie delight so is foodwerks and Proef
( they even cater to vegetarians if that matters)

Coffeeshop 137 is comfortable so is paradox
Be easy - if she feels uncomfortable (should be no reason - there are female tokers!)
Just be easy and leave, find another place. All of the coffeeshops mentioned are good choices
