Can you find out? I, as a fairly frequent customer of Amsterdam, get more disappointed with the lack of variety each time I visit. Cinderela99 is a very nice strain, it would be an incentive for me to check your shop out. Not that one person will make a huge difference to you, but from a customer's perspective if you want my opinion on what would set you aside from other shops would be to keep your menu individual, or as much so as poss.

I know amsterdam has it's classics but EVERYWHERE sells White widow/amnesia/cheese/chocolope.

Good move with the edelweiss though, that's one thing I've never tried.

I've tried it from Siberie as well. Wasn't one of my favorites, but maybe I didn't get the best example.

@ tru playa- i shall send a request for more info down the line and get back to you on that.
I agree that the lack of interesting varieties can often be tiresome.
I believe some of this could be explained by the fact that so many smaller growers have been busted in recent years and these tend to be the people who like to grow the interesting genetics- like things that take 16 weeks to flower, or varieties that yield low quantities of top end stuff
The larger scale growers will always be looking to produce large amounts of whatever is the latest "in thing" and so the market is regularly flooded with mediocre haze crosses or cheeses or whatever name might command the biggest returns.
From experience I find that a grower can get a much better result from ten plants than from a hundred simply due to the time that can be spent on each individual plant.
In the past few years the risk versus reward equation has become much more complicated for the smaller grower, and while many have had the misfortune to be busted, many others have simply decided that the risks are not worth it and packed up their grow rooms for good or moved elsewhere.
This is a real shame but we will continue in our aim to support the little guy and keep looking for interesting things for the menu.
we hope you'll come and check us out.

I must admit to being very excited about a new shop offering some new varieties that i certainly have not tried.

I have had the Eidelweiss from 137 a few times and really liked it.

More refreshing still is a shop operator being so personable on here and showing a real interest in what we all think.

Nel z bub, i am over early March and cannot wait to meet you and your shop.

Hello,

I have just seen the menu on coffeeshopmenus.org, tank you Gapie...

I noticed that the Nepal is in 8euros and the Afghan in 10euros, the Afghan is dear(expensive) with regard to many of coffeeshop, is it really tres well? (Taste, texture and effects)

The lebanon is a real Lebanese or libaneses grow plants in Morocco?

Sorry of all these questions nel z bub, but I like vouchers hash and I already prepare my journey....

Thank you in advance for your answer nel z bub.

Cordially :D

@thefreeland
Your questions are welcome mate, and I'll do my best to answer them.
It looks like the menu you are referring to is the old one, before the changeover. Neither the Afghan nor the Lebanese have made it onto the new menu. The Afghan was finished and we did not think that the Leb was of a good enough quality for the new menu.
Currently we have one maroccan, a nepalese and one pressed iceolator.
Both the maroc and the nepal are nice and clean and the ice, while not the top grade, is very strong.
I believe you can see a customer review of the maroc and nepalese a couple of pages back.
As far as the future is concerned we would like to add a really top grade, melt in your hand, maroccan as well as some nice unpressed ice hash.
I would love to have a nice piece of charas on the menu but in six years in amsterdam I have yet to see any charas that I would consider to be of a high enough standard, available in a commercial quantity.
This is just my opinion, but I believe that the best Indian charas tends to be smuggled to Italy and Israel where there is a strong market for this type of hash, with only the lesser grade stuff making it to amsterdam.
Hope this helps to answer some of your questions.
look forward to meeting you in may.

Thank you nel z bub for your fast answer....

Effectively I looked at your new menu on the previous pages.... :D

I Shall smoke the caramella, the Nepal also I think (I like blacks-hach) ......

I like the big stone, then your ice will be of the part(party), and as a lot here I wish to smoke this citronella, but the super lemon haze, amnesia and cheese make for me of the eye....

In brief 3 days in Amsterdam, and 3visites mini....

very pleasant to be able to speak for one person about some staff of a coffee shop...

Cordially.

The only place I've ever had Edelweiss was in Eindhoven. Pretty sure I got some from The Pink and from what I can remember it was a really nice smoke. Be interested to hear what this one is like.
