snack food??

Post by garnkell »

Whilst in amsterdam have any of you found new munchies favourites in the supermarkets that you can't find at home?
Obviously there's the chips and waffles from the stands but was there any like chocolate bars or sweets that you just wish you could get your hands on at home?

Dutch spice cookies !!
What are some places in centrum/the wallen that specialize in these Dutch and European sweet treats? In all of my previous trips I've never even tried any of these things and I want to rectify that as this could be my last trip to Amsterdam. 8)

Tony's are everywhere. Always at AH. There's a Marqt on Keizersgracht now for those that can't drag themselves too far from the Wallen. They have great snacks.

those delicous round almond cakes, with an almond on the top. The ones you buy in any bakery fresh tend to be even more yummy, richer and probably more almonds in them as opposed to almond essence, but the pre packed ones in the supermarkets that come in packs of four are delicious as well.

failing that last resort are the long finger ones..

Holy crap, they are really good! Somebody recommended it to me in CS 137, immediately went to some bakery on the corner of Lindengracht and grabbed some. Must say, it was a well-managed munchie breakfast:)
