We are here near the main throng. Look out for a bald guy and an old guy wearing a green hat

Real shame about the weather, and the cops rigid enforcement of the park bylaws.
Wow, that wasn't just april showers this afternoon that was pouring rain, and chilly with it. I arrived about 1pm so by the time I met up with Smirks about 2.45 I was losing the will, and contact with my extremities.
Everyone toking and it didn't seem like any busting going on. We had some nice things in the vape and a couple of joints and decided to hit a weatherspoons in Edgware Road for coffee and warmth about 4pm, and thats where we vaped out 420.
.
Happy soggy 420

What a long strange trip it is.

At Hyde Park Corner they were helpfully informing us:

And they were searching some people, so I walked the other way; I seemed to be invisible to them, but I didn't want to push it. And I did have a pipe and some Moroccan hash.

I walked about, met some pleasant dogs, all of whom I told were the most beautiful dog in the world, and smoked my pipe. Shared pipe and joint with some people. Went to take refuge in the Wetherspoons earlier than Spidergawd and Smirks; left before 4pm with the intention of going back to the park. But it was raining quite heavily by then, and a warm bus had just pulled up, so I got on. And that was that. We must have just missed each other.

Good on you fellas. Nice to see that boris is making good use of the policing budget.Smith2 wrote:At Hyde Park Corner they were helpfully informing us:

We got there 2-ish, came from quieter Knightsbridge side so avoided most filth, huddled, smoke, drank and listened to speakers for a couple of hours, cheered at 420, went home to dry off.
More filth and signs this year and less people due to weather led to a bit of a damp squib, surely to be improved upon at future gatherings.
Hopefully have better luck at meeting up at a future event when weather and sign-banning are not against us.

Such a shame we didn't get to meet up with you Smith and Tranquilised, we'll have to organise something ourselves.
.
I think had it not pissed down with rain all day it would have been a big affair. I was by one of the gates for a couple of hours and plenty of stoner people were pouring through, but also I think a lot who would have stayed especially the older ones gave up with the weather. Groups were setting up in the park, under umbrella shelters and a cloud of smoke without being bothered by passing law so it probably would have gone really well had nature smiled a bit.
The trouble is to hold a weed centred event you have to find a location willing and legally able to host it, and with our laws and the herb still on the wrong side of the law thats really difficult. So it has to be an ad hoc gathering at speakers corner. No banners or placards, verbal intercourse only allowed.
NORML.UK wanted to have the AGM in the North of England this year but couldn't find anywhere to host it, so it's looking like it's in Bristol again which is OK for me but not so good for folks coming from Scotland and other foreign parts

Yeah we'll have to meet up somewhere before and enter en masse next time then.
Smirks mentioned Hampstead Heath as a possible meet spot some time-maybe when we have a sustained period of good weather again!
Am in Dam for KD tomorrow til Monday if anyone's in town.
