Day 3
Up early- return train ticket to Nijmegen cost E36.90, which I thought was good value compared to what id pay in England.

Arhem
My friend, who went to uni in Nijmegen, met me at the station and took me on a quick whistle stop tour of coffeeshops: Lucky Luke, Pinguin (where I got a g of S5 Haze, pure impulse, which I didn’t get round to smoking ),Zero-Zero, De Walm. I really liked the non commercial/community centre feel and spirit that the shops have.

THC coffeeshop -Nice friendly service and like most of the shop free tea.
1g Tarquist E11 – cant remember it amongst the blur of other smokes :) but it did get me nicely stoned.

My friend then gave me a present of 5 samples from private dealers for some blind tasting, which was fun.

#1 Sativa - Quite wide eyed, one dimensional straight up buzz, like balloons being tied to your head but like you said no twist. But it is nice as first spicy smoke of the day

#2 – Classic Skunk – musky/earthy smell and taste with nice sedated relaxing stone.

#3 – CHEESE! anti septic stink with a sweet undertone, makes the saliva in your mouth taste amazing!

#4 – Mutant – this is again hard to separate from the whirlwind of joints, fresh fruity with an uppy buzz.

#5 – Berry - mouthwatering heavy rich fruity taste that led to instant combo of high/stoned that had my vision wobble, a bit trippy and warped. Top notch stuff.

Got some chips from a shop near coffeeshop Upstairs, smoked a spliff of cheese before the train to:

Nijmegen

Checked out Dakota on our way to
Kruidentuin – where we shared E5 of Paki(E8/g), Manali(E8/g), Caramel(E9/g), Chocolat(E10/g), Nogat(E12,50/g) and went upstairs with some mint teas. All the hashes had they merits – considering the price they were all amazing! Puts Dam prices and quality to shame. Spent a few hours sampling them and refilling the mint teas - it was heaven. Great shop, top product!

I was also introduced to the benefit of mixing hash with import grass instead of tobacco – which I will explore further on my next trip to dam.

Stoned train back to Amsterdam

Betty Boop
2g Jbel – Repeat purchase – no pic

Wok 2 Walk – chicken teriyaki , egg noodles

Get into the hotel 10 mins before Manchester city vs Barca - roll 5 spliffs- 0.5g of each from the stash I got from my friend plus a few other bits and bobs left over.

Master of the Flying Guillotine – really good martial arts film – so many cool characters, its sequel to The One Armed Boxer which I had seen quite recently.

This character is where street fighter got the influence for Dhalsim

Great report as allways! When I read ur travelogues I can´t wait to try some of
your great purchases... the weed from the local growers looks so yummy, too.
I hope you enjoyed your trip :D and thx again for that nice Report 8)

Coffeeshop Kruidentuin is the place for Hash in Nijmegen... it´s nice to see so many
hash strains on the menu for good prices... they had on my last visit around 6 hash strains
between 5-10€/g and all had real nice quality... some people said to me that the staff is a little
bit unfriendly... but I had no problems with them... bud Tenders
showed me all stuff I wanted to look at and let me smell and so on...

Thanks for all the replies, glad you all enjoyed the report :D
@Cloudmaster - I have heard of Monkey but never seen it.
@Colino - I wish I had that selection right now too  It was superb
@Marok21- my guide also said Kruidentuin was the place to go for hash. I haven't been to any other shops there but I cant imagine anything much better :) The service wasn't super friendly, but they were nice and happy to do multiple E5 deals.
@Willjay - thanks, I suppose I am :D I like to have a record of the important stuff - food and smoke :)

Close ups coming very soon...

Cheers Pengaldinho, I of course agree with other members top report as expected!
Nice you took a side trip to Arnhem and Nijmegen. I agree with your non commercial/community centre feel regarding some shops in Arnhem(especially Zero-Zero and THC, others not so much. It seems time stood still there and I only know that kind of feel reported by others visiting dutch coffeeshops in the '80ies/early '90ies.),too.
I really like the THC as well and I had your mentioned moroccan 'Tarquist' too in the past. Their menu changes every now and then in opposite to 'never changing' Kruidentuin so there is something interesting on offer every time but they usually stock around two-three moroccans for 11€ as two-three moroccans for 9€. They also offer one 'Himalyan Power'(?)for like 13€ which is nice but I'm just not into blacks so much. Their weed is mostly organic and good enough which is a nice bonus as well. Long story short: moroccan guys at Omigo there store a few nice moroccans as well but THC is the place to go in Arnhem for resin  .

I love seeing Kruidentuin advertized here as well :D . I'm preaching about this shop since years(just look at this post). All hashes you mentioned are spot on! I'm a sucker for the 'Paki' myself and their 'Manali' particulary is just great for the price  ! I have yet to come accross a bad purchase from there(even their 'Twizzla' was reasonable priced for 7€ as well). Their menu never changed over the last couple of years but why change a winning team I guess?! Always ten sorts of hashish available(+dreadful afghan border - never tried it )and most of it I tried and found excellent, especially price-performance-ratio. You won't find any 'Sensabille'(sp), 'Habibi' or 'Super Cream' there but e.g. their top of the menu hashish 'Nogat' was like 15€/g years back and outstanding at that point(still very nice) and on par with those mentioned. So they seem to consider quality pricewise. Their main point then is their huge selection on offer in my eyes something for everyone's taste - never let me down in at least thirty visits to that place over the years(not to forget fresh moroccan style mint tea on offer).
Such a unique shop, will always be in my personal top 5 nationwide. Not into their weed but it's good enough and never seem to change as well(Nlx,Shiva, Turbo K and Haze).
Personally I find it's the place to go for hasj in Gelderland and Limburg, one of the best in the country! Only shop coming relatively close in this region is mentioned THC in Arnhem. Only downside is - as Marok21 pointed out - their idea of service is just not right. Moroccan family there seems to be a bit too proud of their wares as they rarely would show you their selection closer(I'm talking about smelling/closer looking not touching)unless you're a regular or they have a good day. Not really impolite it's kinda indifferent behaviour but they seem not to rip people off(scale in sight) and I get recognized as a regular after all these years. In those cases they weigh generously though  !

Thanks too for all those talk here about material art films. I wasn't too aware of this as I'm not so much into movies. Looked it up and realized that I watched numerous films like that in my childhood/early youth which my parents irresponsibly brought home from the local video store at my desire though! All that chinese/japanese stuff I don't remember any names anymore along with such trashy movies like 'American Ninja'(no offence intended as this doesn't seem to belong to this genre) . Very funny memories.

@Marok21: as mentioned elsewhere on here next time you want to visit Kruidentuin go and check THC in Arnhem as Nijmegen is conveniently close.
