Suggestions for next grow

Post by Surfer Joe »

I have been growing autoflowers and am not as pleased with the potency compared to the pot I can buy in Amsterdam, so I want to try growing some photoperiod strains.
I also realized that I don't really want a huge amount of just one strain, so I want to try a few different strains for my next grow.

I like a sativa effect but don't mind some of the indica effects either. I really enjoyed northern lights and the amnesia/haze strains over the years which are cerebral and uplifting and psychedelic.

I have a small grow tent and will grow in airpots this time. I would like to plant 4 photoperiod strains that don't grow very tall and are good reliable strains.
Can anyone please suggest some strains that I might look into?

Is there any difference in potency between regular photoperiod and feminized photoperiod seeds? I would prefer to stick with feminized seeds unless there is a significant difference in potency between the two.

Thanks for any advice.

If I had the room to grow I would defo grow ugorg blues. It's something crossed with cheese, tried it when I was at a music festival. Tastes like really fruity cheese, hope this helps.

Hoi,
First, you are on the wrong stoner website, you should perhaps look at sites like ICMAG and Rollitup... they have dedicated growing sections.
Second, doesn't matter if a strain is regular or feminized, the potency will be the same.
Next, what is the size of your small grow tent? What type of lighting system are you using, and the wattage? Ventilation? Nutrients?
When deciding to grow multiple strains, especially in a confined space, several factors should be given serious consideration...
1. Length of flowering period - I suggest choosing strains that have similar flowering periods, perhaps +/- 5 days.
2. Size of the plant - Small tent equals limited space; choose strains that don't have a high stretch factor; be mindful of "bushy" strains as well (pure Indicas).
3. Nutrient requirements - Choose strains that have similar nutrient requirements, else you would be preparing several different mixes, every day.

You mentioned Sativa as the type of choice, and though there are many short flowering strains, most of the better known have flowering periods exceeding 10 weeks. For example, Amnesia Haze (not the SSH cut) typically flowers in 12-13 weeks; Dr. Greenspoon around 16-18, perhaps longer.

Lastly, have a look at this website....http://en.seedfinder.eu/

I have heard amazing things from UGORG.

I agree with Ron to some extent there are some great grow forums dedicated to growing.

Try UK420 and check the UGORG section.

Still... Im sure that there are plenty on here that will be able to help you

Thanks a lot everyone.I am definitely going to check out the ugorg, jock horror (is that the same as Jack Herrer?) strains.
I had thought of going with strains that I have smoked in Amsterdam and loved, such as the hazes and the northern lights, but the advice about matching flowering periods and nutrient requirements is something I will have to plan for as well.

Uhmm... huh...?

Wrong place?
Depends on how one looks at it... this here is the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory, specializing in most things coffee shop related.
Have a look at our grow section; some threads haven't seen any action since last year, many much longer. Now have a look at the sites I mentioned and their grow sections.
Would you like Red or White with that Crow, sir?
Leave it, simply stroll to the next point...

I never inferred that either. I know plenty, you know plenty, a few other members know some things as well. What does that have to do with anything? Right, nothing at all...
Taking my comment and recommendation a bit personal aren't you? Rolling eyes, really?

Thanks, and have a great day... :)

I do check out those forums, but this one is special.
Growing is not the same as going to Amsterdam.
I need to get back there before July when they close my favorite coffeshops.
I asked in Homegrown Fantasy and they said they were not likely to relocate, just close.
I've been visiting them since the 80s, so it's very sad.

HGF have a seed shop just around the corner from their coffee shop. Is that closing too?

Good question. Does the new law include seed shops?

Yay, unnecessary aggressive posting in yet another thread, just what everyone wants to read. Some chilling the fuck out would be welcome and much more pleasant for everyone imo.
