be aware and be ready to take a step back from yourself if you feel anxious, get something sugery into you and a bit of cold water on the face never hurts either.
remember it is your reaction to the weed. you are in no danger at all. close one nostril of your nose and inhale deeply then repeat with the other nostril covered. repeat till anxiety passes. there are other quick tricks to reduce anxiety quickly if you care to research them.

For me weed in Amsterdam is generally very strong. If I was looking to be careful I'd go for some outdoor weed. Generally less strong. The closest place with nice outdoor to centraal station that I know of is Siberie

If you'd like something mild then it might be worth considering putting hash into your pipe instead of weed. Ask the BT for some 'all day' or 'everyday' hash. The plus point here is the hash you are looking for will be a little cheaper. Generally speaking. The place you are thinking of going to is actually quite good for hash. It is a well appointed coffee shop. You will be comfy there. They serve hot food and have table service. They have a large fish tank in the floor.

Don't forget to get some screens for your pipe. I like to use a small glass pipe as its size means over dosing is more difficult.

Have you looked at FBN's coffee shop menu site yet? I'd have a look at possible shops to visit and see what they are selling then when you walk in you'll already have an idea of what you want perhaps.

TT, NO, it was some @@shole trying to "market" on this site. He hit a couple other threads too. Jimi was spot on 100% correct in slamming that guy, but the post has been removed now. Your advice I think was likely welcomed, its just you could not see the previous guy's post, as it was taken down. Have a good one Bud.

I have to disagree with the edibles recommendation unless it is at the very end of your trip. The potency of edibles varies significantly from coffeeshop to coffeeshop! The ones at Paradox are quite strong, followed closely by those from Utopia. There are mid-range edibles which include those from Homegrown Fantasy and Dampkring and Tweede Kamer. I like the latter two as starting places since they are foil wrapped and thereby moist! I would start with one of these and take about a quarter to a third. Wait an hour and see where you are.

The real problem with edibles is that it is hard to get the right dosage.

As for a pipe, if you want to spend some bucks, there's the Journey 2 Pipe. It stays cool, doesn't require a screen, is easily cleaned making it a potential bring home pipe, and fits the hand real well.

Having said the above, If I were you, I would describe my "beginner" status to the budtender and follow his/her guidance. Something leaning toward the indica side is probably a good first step. I would also focus on the lower priced strains and proceed with caution. A toke or two and it's time for a break. Buy a drink and chill for a bit!

Have a great trip!!!!

You have had plenty of good advice fella. Talk to your bud tender and buy a can of sugary pop if you need to regulate your blood sugar levels is all I can add. If you are diabetic and don't do sugar I can get advice for you. Peace.

They are not a strong as they used to be, for sure, but Paradox is still worth the walk. Finding the place is a bit of an adventure for a beginner, the shakes are good, and there is always the mural.

Go to Siberie Coffeeshop, ask them for beginner weed, find somebody to help you with the vaporizer... repeat with stronger weed after a session or two... should do the trick for you. Have fun!

In February Rookies had Northern Lights, should be good to go with this one. They also usually stock something called "Rookies", no idea what it is but it's not very strong (at least to me....) and is usually 8 per gram.
"Laif" with a long "a".
