Closures imminent

Hi all, new to here but a dam regular. Just got back and to my horror rules have changed again! A fair few coffee shops are due to close (31 I think) some by July. This is due to them being near schools. One favourite " Homegrown Fantasy" is on the list. At present they can only open when schools aren't. This means open from 6pm and all weekend. Plenty are still fine but things are definitely moving in the wrong direction. Petitions are about so sign them if you get out there.

Not to be rude, and for sure the new closures and restrictions are stupid and a real shame, but you should know this really isn't news to anyone here, its an ongoing situation everyone has been very aware of for some time. You could have looked for the threads about it like this one;

Honestly its a bit late for petitions signed by tourists to stop this I reckon, the shops legally challenged it etc and nothing has stopped it yet, hence them having already complied with the restricted hours.

Yeah I know a lot of people have known about all this for a while ( weed pass etc) But many people haven't just thought I'd spread the word chill out!

Indeed, am quite chilled really, was just pointing out that it is a bit redundant to explain the schools thing (which is not the same as the weedpass) to members here as we've known about it for ages and have existing threads about it. Totally get your intention though and didn't mean to be unwelcoming :)

BTW if you are interested, check out some of the posts in the Utopia thread late last year from Nel (who worked there) about the situation and challenges made to it, quite informative.
