question

Post by ray-nw »

hiya all, question for ya.

can you go into a coffee shop and smoke if you have not purchased your bud there??

a couple of grams will last the wife and i nearly all day as we only smoke small rizla joints(single skinners)
but we do like to go to different shops, can we go and just buy a couple of drinks but still smoke our own stuff, will they mind??

thanks
ray.

You should make a purchase, though it need not be weed or hash. Something to drink or munch works real well.

Shouldn't be a problem at any coffeeshop but some say you have to purchase some of theirs. As a general rule these places aren't worth staying at and don't deserve your business.

As long as you dont take the piss by just having 1 coke in an hour, they will be fine. i often dont buy herb when i go to a coffeshop if i already have loads. but generally buy a drink or two and something to eat. this seems to keep the staff happy.

I had another question to add. Is it ok if when you go into a coffeeshop you only buy weed and no drinks? i found last time i was in amsterdam they didn't seem to care, but would like a second opinion. I know it also depends on how packed the place is. Though sometimes i like to just buy weed coz after going to a few coffeeshops i no longer feel like drinking anything or eating anything else since i've already had enough, and as well when a pint can be 3 euro i rather add another 5 euro and buy a gram of something.

Thanks for the info

I'm pretty sure you have to buy a drink if you sit down. It's only fair, they have high overheads. Roll a couple up, go for a walk or head to a park if you don't want to sit in your hotel room.

Never had a problem with this, if your not sure ask they will soon set you straight.

I can vouch for Hill Street (Nieuwmarkt), Old Church, Nes, Amnesia and Nes are all fine with it. I done it at all of them and others on different occassions.

As long as youre buying drinks regulaly they dont mind.
You missed it right?

This weekend we have visited Rokerij II, Free Adam, Route 66 and a few others where we haven't purchased any weed but had a few drinks and just made a J with weed from another shop without any hesitation.

As long as you buy something which warrants you using a seat then you should be fine, we did come across such a situation in the Old Church this weekend when a party of about 10 came in and went straight upstairs and just sat down and only 3 of them bought a drink or any weed. The nice lady did come and point out that other people would buy weed and drinks and sit down if they weren't there, which is a very valid point especially at weekends if you ask me! Just be prepared to at least buy a few drinks for renting your seat for an hour!! lol :)
