Coffeeshops need to stop renaming strains ...

Post by samseed »

why is it that coffeeshops feel they have they right to change the name of a strain , it really shows fucking retarded behaviour and a sense of the coffeeshop trying to be original but really show them off as more of a con than a regular cf .

i can give some examples , SUPER LEMON HAZE is now SUPER LEMON BIO HAZE , theres no reason for this backwardness .

its not a cross so why the added name change , just beacuse it was grown in soil .

SUPER SILVER HAZE is now about 20 different hazes , from shining sliver haze to holloywood haze , sliver star haze etc....

just thought i'd put it out there for the people that thought they tried 10 differnt hazes , probably tried 4 and the rest were the same renamed .............

in the 90's coffeeshops never had the audacity to treat ppl and do they thing they do these days . karma is a cunt , 72 cf's to close , bitch .

peace

True that but I wouldn't waste your breath and get upset about it, ultimately it's your choice if you wanna buy into it or not. It's been discussed in the Voyagers thread how there are often different phenos of Amnesia that are sold as different strains entirely when in reality they tend to be lower grade hermies. It is logical that this would happen in Amsterdam though as there are no strict regulations in place like in American dispensaries where the strains are controlled and can be traced from seed to end product that the customer receives such as in Colorado.

What about America and the many many different OG cuts and genetics flying around now.

Everything is kush but with no real kush lineage.

Fair enough, I am not a fan of how the industry as a whole has degraded the landraces into cross after cross where the genetic history of the plant is for the most part lost on the consumer. At the very least, the dispensaries provide verifiable information that one can trace back if desired, whereas coffeeshops tend not to.

Tell that to the new device made so consumers test quality control in the US market as there apparently is none.

At this stage in newly legalized states, there is need for such a device. As time goes on and the market becomes well established like in Colorado, Washington and California, the free market will ensure quality goes up. Shops like River Rock in Colorado and Harborside Health Center in California are great examples of this. The competition in the free market will require dispensaries, especially those who have made a name for themselves, to maintain the highest quality and cleanliness in their products.

All good here  few days away from a nice day out in Hyde Park.

Agree with your sentiment but to be fair Voyagers are not really renaming it. Would be more clear however if they simply put (bio) after the name rather than incorporating the bio bit into the name.
