It's as safe as any city. Be aware of pickpockets, watch your personal items. Don't buy drugs on the street. Don't flash wades of money......Compared to most places I have been I think of it as a very gentle safe place. Plenty of gezellig!

having an under the clothes belly pouch for valuables would be a good idea. just in case. there are pickpockets and other pests in the RLD/Damrak area for example.

if you steer clear of the masses and go to the places suggested in this thread you'll be fine.

personally I think the central to west side of the city 'seems' safer. not so raucious anyway.

Personally I'd recommend abraxas i just love the atmos decent weed too. Look it up .
