Flying With Gear

Just wondering if anyone has had any trouble flying with pipes, grinders etc to Holland? I'm going to be in Rotterdam and the Hague for work later this month so was just going to bring my own gear since I don't know the headshops at all in those cities. Not worried about the legality of bringing a pipe/grinder, but just wondering if anyone's had them taken away by security or customs going through the airport.

Anyone else bring their gear to the Dam with them?

I always do it(grinder, bong, screens), even if i'm not carrying a declared suitcase, once i got stopped at eindhoven airport, thought that i'm going to have some problems cause last hit i took from this bong was like an hour before. Airport security guy took out a little jar of jam from AH that got lost in my bag during trip, threw it out and put everything in its place(including bong), smiled and wished me a pleasant flight. If you go with a declared luggage, i see completely no problems. I don't know how it goes with intercontinental flights but within EU that was my experience.

Cool, yeah I'm flying from the UK and was just going to check my bag, so shouldn't be an issue I don't think. Just didn't want to bring anything that was going to get thrown out by security. Thanks for the info!

I was once found with a grinder, it had been emptied but was still covered in crystals. I was politely told not to bring it on my person again and sent on my way.

You definitely shouldn't have a problem if it's in your hold luggage, it can be a tobacco pipe for all they know.

If it's in your hand luggage then in the worst case scenario I would expect it to be confiscated and a few sharp words. However, if you've smoked from the bong there will be THC content inside the bong so technically you're bordering on a fine line with the law. I would say it's down to customs discretion, and if the officer got some of his wife last night :P

Cool, yeah it's a new pipe and grinder so no crystals on it, so no worries there. Should be cool!

you won't have a problem going to Holland but coming back is something else, if customs search you and find a grinder or pipe they will be more likely to search you more thoroughly. if anything you can always buy a cheap grinder from internet and just leave it there when you leave.

That's what my plan was. Just bring a cheap grinder and pipe and leave them at the last CS I visit.

Yeah I have plave in Ams where I normally buy a pipe and grinder, but I can't make it there this trip, so figured I would bring my own since I don't know any head shops in Rotterdam and The Hague. Does anyone know any shops you've checked out in these cities for pipes etc?

I was just thinking about this the other day as i'm going for the first time in a few days from canada. I know you can buy the stuff there but I figure it'll be cheaper buying it here first. I'm gonna bring pre-rolled papers, regular papers and a new grinder.....still not sure about the pipe tho. Even tho it would be a new, unused pipe I'm still not sure if its worth the chance of them tearing up my stuff.

my journey pipe has made the trip back and forth to Amsterdam numerous times
it has also traveled within the states too. as long as it is clean, it's not a problem

I always travel with my gear i buy from back home since papers are just 1$ vs 1Euro save 40% per pack ;)
same with grinders i get them for 2-3$ (with screen 10$) vs 2-3 euro and with screen 3.99+ < got a bunch of those from last trip
ive been questioned on my way to from my home country . they asked questions...where, why, who, what how long, why you have this ? what you planing to do? i pulled out my magical paper and that was the end of that
once when i landed in amsterdam they searched me  the lady didn't like me or something. i stayed calm the whole time. she wasn't going to let me in the country :x and this other person (higher then her) saved me and got to get on my way after a good hour of questions and searched
