Gapie, Woodz60, Jesscass, Dimon, Spliphy2, TwoCanucks thanks very much, glad you like it and Spliphy2 it was nice to meet you too.

Wednesday 23rd April 2014

Our last day and the sun is shining yet again.
Everybody is looking cool in their sunglasses.
We move out of the apartment and drop our bags off at a place on the Damrak.

We usually stay somewhere around the Nieuwmarkt area and have breakfasted at Poco Loco many times.
J has decided that we should start today here.

Image
Poco Loco is right next to Hill Street Blues at the Market, Rock-It and Jolly Joker

A tram into the East is the order of the day for today.

As the tram rounds the corner by the Munt I attempt a quick picture through the window of
Image
The "new" Old Church.

Alighting the tram at Pontanusstraat we have to stop and take a quick look at
Image
Molen De Gooyer (windmill) and Brouwerij 't IJ (brewery).

Image
Happy People (not to be confused with Funny People) is at one end of the Dapper Market.

We take a stroll through the market.
We don't buy anything but it's fun exploring markets.

As it's such a nice day we decide to go back to Amstelhaven, the canal-side café that J discovered a few days ago.

Onto the metro to Centraal. From Centraal metro station we attempt to find an exit next to Voyagers.
We get close - at least we emerge on the right side of the main road.

Voyagers

I spend my last few euros on a gram of something nice and join the session.

My watch is on UK time so it's actually 4:20.
Sadly, though, that means it's time to head for the airport.

Goodbyes to everyone and off we go.

Thanks to everyone who made it such a memorable trip.
See you all again next year I hope.

The café lemming alludes to Poco Loco has apartments above it fantastic views,it used to be managed by Greenhouse but I,m not too sure they have it on their books anymore, last time we stayed there a cool Aussie guy seemed to be the man who looked after the day to running and occupied the first flat above the café. well worth browsing for though as its a great spot to explore from as well.
