Summer road trip

I'm planning a trip to the Netherlands somewhere around the end of July/ start of August, I plan to catch the Dover to Calais ferry and have a return ferry booked about a week later. I plan to drive through France and Belgium and spend the week in the Netherlands. I thought I might stop off somewhere for a night or two on route to Amsterdam, where I plan to camp for a few more days then work my way back towards Calais but only crossing back in to Belgium and France when I need to get on the ferry. I'm pretty proud of that plan as I'm not very good at organising anything! I just need some help with the minor details like where to go, any places to avoid? I'm easily pleased, some nice weed, a quiet campsite, maybe a bit of carp fishing along the way and I'm not to bothered about much else. Any advice will be great fully received as it will save me from hours of Internet research, most of which I will probably have forgot by the morning.

well i do a road trip to holland every year,sept this year,i stay at wassenaar{campsite,mobile home amusement park}the hauge the nearest palce for coffee shops{dizzy duck,creamers for beers and smokes}plus there loads of shops see the list on this site.1st real place you can stop is rotterdam,there some good shops there,but having spent time there,it not my kind of place{if you have to stop at nemos,you can find a place to park just by the side of the cafe}i wait till i get to the hauge or go via Gorinchem{De Vrolijke Gaper,one of the best coffee shops in holland,but it stop and go,so drive round to De Bovenstad to smoke}breda,dorcetch still have the weitpass,so dont bother wasting the petrol.for amsterdam i use the park and ride at P+R Sloterdijk 8 euro a day and 4 tickets for the train to amsterdam central or go to haarlem great coffee shops{wille wortels strong high qautliy weed} and well worth the vist.for camping try http://www.campingzeeburg.nl/, and get the tram or bus into the center of amsterdam.,there some more campsites a round the dam,Camperplaats Amsterdam
