Eden Rembrandtplein

Post by Paul from London »

Stayed there for two nights in mid Jan. Very nice hotel, quite contemporary and funky.

I booked a room for one person via easytobook.com - cost 198E plus 5% tax. I turned up at reception at approx 10am to deposit my bags only to be told that in fact my room was ready, v good news. However after checking in and making my way to the 5th floor I opened my door to be faced with the tiniest room. I also noticed that they'd put me in a non-smoking room when I'd requested a smoking one (obviously!). I called reception and they were very apologetic saying it would be no trouble to move me but the room wouldn't be ready until the regular checking in time, which was fine by me as I had plenty of coffeeshops to visit!

The room I was moved to was just lovely, large and I was very happy there throughout my stay.

I've stayed in dozens of hotels in Amsterdam over the years and this is one of my favourites, I'd most certainly stay there again. Good for all attractions, coffeeshops etc and very easy to get to, either on foot or by tram.

Being part of a big chain I am sure they are not a 'smoking friendly' hotel but I didn't have any problems sparking up several doobies in my room, just open the window, put a towel under the door and be sensible about it.

So, if you’re thinking of booking this hotel, do so, it’s in a great location, the rooms are v nice, staff friendly and helpful, you won’t regret it.

Hope you enjoy it JW, it's in a great location and very easy for trams or just plain old fashioned walking.

Check out candid photos on Trip Advisor if you haven't already.

Hi Yes i stayed there last year, very nice hotel friendly staff , not smoker friendly but surrounded by coffeeshops .Very clean watch the bathroom doors . i was opening it the wrong way and could hardly fit round it.My wife kindly pointed out on the last day that i had been pushing it in , instead of pulling on the handle!!!!
