Excellent haul of menu pics. Getting handed that menu at Dampkring was cool. That's why it never hurts to ask. 8)

Well that's the trip now over and I'm back home feeling restless and planning the next adventure across, I can't seem to remember where yesterday went as it was all just a haze.

Mad dog decided to give the truffles a miss with the words "never again" as they seemed to wipe him out the night before yet I was grand and was itching to get another box but after munching a couple of space cakes the itch began to wear off so it was just a mad day smoking chilling and munching, which was a nice change as I find with truffles you can't eat and I like my munchies to much lol.

We went into 420 as the lemon cake there is really nice and I took a shot of the menu but with having so much smoke on me I went next door to the bar and sat outside watching the world go by, we left there and I decided to head back down to dolphins as I wanted to see how mad dog would cope with the stairs down, the menu hasn't changed much since I was last there puffing away on the vapes, but I took some marakesh at €14 a gram and I rolled a joint and then wiped the oil that came out of it on to some rizlas for my next one and it certainly did the trick  . We left there with me cracking my head on the ceiling as I climbed back up the stairs and if I wasn't seeing stars before I certainly was now :( After a munch and a bit of shopping we decided to head back up to central and wonder around the RLD but nothing new there, and went off into the cannabis museum and that wasn't to bad, also took advantage of the gallery and had a blast on the vaporiser which in all fairness wasn't bad because I used my own weed in it. We left there and decided to head into hunters and had a few smokes and took a shot of the menu..

A few highlights were us being approached by some old tramp who looked like fagan offering us directions and despite saying nah I'll find my own way, he wasn't having it and was saying I'll tell you how to get there, and repeating it so I couldn't concentrate and instead of saying fuck off will ya  I said come on then it's the original dampkrin and true to his word his directions got me there and mad dog paid the euro! And what was weird I then seen this lanky younger guy walk up to him and take the euro out of his hand!

Also as a avid fan of Debra Mills art work I went to her cabin to buy myself some stuff only to find out it was shut, i took the directions for her new shop up by central off the door and ventured up only to find it was also shut, seeing the opening hours I realised I wasn't going to get anything and felt slightly pissed off, anyway yesterday when down by the leidsplein I took a jaunt around to her cabin again hoping it was open on the off chance, but it was shut and as I was about to groan again I seen someone cleaning round the back, it wasn't her but some young lass cleaning and I told her about my quest to get some more pictures but she was saying we are shut..... I actually then said yeah I know but I know the pictures I want, and seriously what a fucking groaning bitch she turned out to be, chucking the cloth down then stomping around the front of the cabin chucking everything about saying I open these doors I now have to close tomorrow, mad dog looks at me wondering what the fuck was said around the back of the cabin but I wasn't giving a fuck as I was getting my pictures, I paid and thanked her for letting me get them but seriously what a fucking attitude!

Also being washed out with the current at sea was fun but tiring on the shoulders fighting my way back to the campsite to save myself €8

Getting lost around Amsterdam on the bikes was also an adventure, I thought I'd have learnt my lesson with the previous trips but one wrong turn when heading out the city then I'm fecked and ending up in housing estates seems to be my outcome when this happens.

The truffles..... Well that was the highlight in itself, I've never been one for tripping and it must have been at least 20yr since I last experienced anything like it and I can honestly say thank fuck I don't live over there because I find them very "more'ish"

Anyway that's my trip now over and it's back to the same old same old of daily life and I hope everyone enjoys the latest menu shots and gives you all an idea of what the prices are and how they can vary.. And me, I'll cherish my memories, look at my pictures and use the menu from dampkrin as a table mat as it's fecking big enough

Everyone was great and happy to let me take photos... All it took was "do you mind if I take some pictures of the menu"
The only place where they said as long as it's pictures and not a video was hunters.. In the past when I've been in Barney's they've not let me take them so don't be alarmed if they do say no.

I guess each to there own. There is little doubt that Popeyes sure dont have the best quality in Dam any more than they also dont have the worst quality. Many non regular smokers may well prefer the more moderate qualiy gear. Even the more favoured coffeeshops have bad or below par quality batches from time to time as the revews section shows. Yet still have to pay the top draw prices for them.

If you compare prices for Popeyes with the likes of Voyagers & Utopia they are cheaper and even offer a better cost per gram discount on a 5g buy. But then thats not comparing like for like qualiy wise which only a handful of coffeeshops can do. But of cause it can be risky buying 5g of anyhing from anywhere without first trying the batch which i would alway do with a 1g buy first. All in all I just feel Popeyes has a reasonable cost per qualiy ratio. Afterall for some its not just about finding the best gear money can find money no object, but a decent qualiy for the money is what some may well prefer.

But with there more expensive buys I'd probably agree with you on price. I was only referring to the more average gear strain wise.

I just read my first reply back and its sound a bit arsey  i am sorry for that (must have been a bad day) I have been over a few time and I know what i like and what I dont. Most of my knowledge is a mix of personal option and what I have found on forums, so i am not a expert. Think about all the people that go over and dont research and spend 2 day sat in the bullldog.

I can see where you are coming from in relation to cost per quality ratio. However, I feel if I was not looking to try lots of different weed on hoilday, there are local hangouts further out of the city that offer a better cost ratio to quality then Popeye. For example; Club media have standard low prices on quality weed and also give 10% of 5 gram deals. But, again as you said before it is all down to personal preference and everyones outlook is different. :D

Well it's taken a while to get back to reality after spending £700 on weed and truffles and I forgot about half the photos I took along with the menu shots.

Looking back it reminds me of a fab time I had over my birthday and I couldn't have spent it with a nicer guy aka mad-dog.

Anyway here's some more photos of my trip and I look forward to reading OP trip reports.

Enjoy.
