Hello Folks,

This may be a shot in the dark, but I'm hoping someone who reads this might have been/or is in the same boat as me so to speak.

I started suffering cluster headaches at the age of 15, some 25 years later I'm still suffering despite trying over 200 different medications. For those who don't know, cluster headaches are suicidally painful, some compare the pain to childbirth. Cluster headaches last between 60 mins to 2.5 hours, they are called clusters as they are often multiple headaches in a day lasting for weeks or months.

To cut a long story short, I've got to the end of the line with conventional drugs, 2 failed nerve block injections in July have left my head sore (cannabis is such a great painkiller though) and my insides are screwed from the various medications. I use cannabis for pain management but my research has led to me a possible preventative without the need for pharmaceuticals.

Having done a fair bit of research via an array of Medical Uni sites and research organisations it appears that the key for me could be Psilocybin Mushrooms. I travel to Amsterdam once or twice a year to enjoy the coffeeshops but this years trip could be a "trip" literally.

My questions is does anyone also with this condition on the forum have any experience of using psychedelic mushrooms to treat their condition and if so would they share this with me please?

I suffer from migraines and have also heard of using mushrooms to ease them. I have never actually tried it though as when I get a migraine swallowing anything makes me feel sick. Your best bet would be to ask at shroomery http://www.shroomery.org/forums/ which is where I heard about it.

No personal experience of this horrible condition. I´m really not jealous of you, friend and I hope you get it eased somehow. I have seen several documentaries about cluster/hortons and the treatment with psycadelics. It seems like it is the way to go. Not sure if truffles are the best option though, would get myself a growkit mushrooms and make myself capsules. Do you have experience with psycadelics like mushrooms?

@KayaIndica, I'm based in the UK and yes have experience of UK psychedelic mushrooms but that was about 15 years ago. I have tried truffles in Amsterdam may be 5 years ago, they were good fun and not very strong but the hangover the next day was not the best. I don't have access to psychedelics in the UK.

I have managed to find a few old threads, unfortunately I don't have permission to link these yet but you can find them by typing in "cluster headaches" in the main top right search function from the board index page.

My plan is to visit Amsterdam fairly shortly and get dosed up over a period of 5 days on truffles and then come back home and continue with mushrooms from online purchased spore kits etc. I've researched dosages and methods of consumption.

Sure sounds like a good form of therapy from my point of view, stoned to the crows, high as kite, flying with the fairies, lol

There are plenty of handy growkits on the market. Several of them even take care of them selves. There are a few smartshops I can recommend for you, with great staff that probably know what you want. Kokopeli´s is my smartshop if choice, but Inner Space is a good one too.

If you enjoy psycadelics the treatment should be a blizz, but I have read about people that really dislikes the treatment and see it as a necessary evil.

@KayaIndica, your smart/headshop suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

I get projectile vomiting with my migraines and all I wasn't to do is sleep

@Ganjaman70, I can help with the migraine vomiting issues you have, ask your doctor about buccastem, its a little pill which you place above the lip in the gum line and allow to dissolve before going to sleep. It's a really good at preventing migraine sickness for about 24 hours.

Following KayaIndica's suggestions I have made contact with a number of smartshops for advice and they have pointed me in the right direction with the most appropriate spore kits.

@RvanSteensel, you are spot on, truffles will help but not a patch on mushrooms.

Fingers crossed, my kits will arrive shortly and I will soon have a solution to my headaches and bring some fun to the aspect of medication
