Post by lamlai11 »

Hi guys,
Any suggestions on a coffeeshop where I can go to catch the English premier league on Saturdays or Sundays..
Coming to Amsterdam on the 29th.. Also while you are here where must I go and what must I buy when I come? Appreciate any advice, thank you!

welcome aboard.. for footy games id say go to a pub that allows smoking. the rest you need to look for in all the different sections. the questions you ask have been answered untold times theres a list of bars that allow smoking. have a good read of coffeeshop reviews to see whats hot or not and read up on some trip reports, always learn something new.. heres one of my trip reports https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 10&t=20715
remember watch out for those bloody bikes they wont stop and take loads of money..

For the footy try Ibiza - https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/Ibiza.html - just on the edge of de Pjip, easy tram ride from centrum if you're not out that way anyway. Big screen upstairs with several large comfy sofas and other seating, plus another tv downstairs too. Watched several EPL games there on my last visit, easily my no.1 coffeeshop option for it

Alternatively Green Place usually has footy on but much more likely to be really busy. CS 137 has a screen and comfy seating, seen Dutch footy on there so fair chance of Prem games. Also seen footy on in Club Media too. Hope that helps :)

The important and limiting factor is whether you need the sound to be on and commentary in English.
Lots of CS and bars have the games on with music playing over them. Fewer have the sound as well. also depends on the game. For example I watched a game in 137 with the sound on cos the whole shop was watching. It was Ajax v Barcelona.

Sunderland vs Spurs in the EPL might be a different matter.

Not the monk has some good suggestions for places to try but I think you'll be happier in a smoke friendly bar. Beer and footy seem to go well together for some reason.
How much did you produce?
