You got it spot on as for much of it I was taking the piss out of myself as much as others. But having said that you would not believe how much flak I have had from people who simply "didn't get"my particular sense of humour.....you obviously did

Re: Review my Amsterdam book for free !!
Thanks for your good review and comments my friend. I will return to Amsterdam some day but right now Iam on with other things. There is I suspect more in my memory banks but I think I did a good job of recalling what I did. Since finishing my book things have come to mind but I feel I cant go back and change or edit anything as the job is/was finished and one must draw a line under it somewhere....37,000 words aint a bad effort

It must have been a great way to sit back and reflect on the whole Amsterdam experience.MR Crocket wrote:Thanks for your good review and comments my friend. 37,000 words is a great effort. I had a go at a book myself a few years back and it's only when you sit to write, you realise that it's not that easy. I meant I would have like more as I enjoyed reading it and could have read more.

Re: Review my Amsterdam book for free !!
I like that last bit..so true.
The effort required to write and put together the book on a personal level was massive. Certainly not something I'm used to but I knew from my first adult visit that there was a book within me. It was just a case of sitting down and churning it out. This I did in January over 21 days. The final 37,000 words were the end result of changing and amending perhaps three times that figure until I got it where I wanted it. I sat back when I had actually published it and it was "out there" (which is quite involved in itself) and I was mentally exhausted with the sheer effort. But I felt cleansed and lifted from what was almost a religious experience. ( Salvia Divinorum kicking in now).
I thank all the people that have taken the time and trouble to read it and give a review. There has only been one bloke that didn't dig it and to be honest I think he looked on it as some sort of quazi official guidebook.

Highly enjoyable read - got through it all in one sitting and loved every minute.
Some lovely anecdotes, it's well written and obviously researched.

A fine effort and it saves me writing one. Lots of laughs along the way.
My 'hard' copy is just the job for passing around the lads and is getting a good airing and great reports, being a Yorkshireman means I'm too tight to buy everybody one of their own.
Hope that the 'smack' of a latex glove doesn't send you into hot sweats
Cheers fella
