I'm not going to engage in any more petty tittle tattling and name calling from here. Certain people don't like me that's obvious and its returned if that's how its going to be. I will though respond to ANY thoughts on my book by anyone that has actually taken the time and trouble to read it. In fact I welcome this, be it good or bad feedback.
To those that have read it....if you think its shit then say so but please give a little of your reasoning behind it....that's all I ask.
That is all

Hello,
had a quick look on Amazon and from the 'taster' decription will be getting a paperback copy shortly to read and pass around.
Thank you for writing the book and for letting us know.
I have a friend who over the years penned two similar style books based on his experiences running in marathons and other long races around the world.
It took him a lot of time and lots of determination, his books were like yours with anecdotal humour etc.
I like this style of stuff so if you get tempted to do a part 2 go for it.
Having flown from LBA myself on those old 'bouncing' twin engined planes years ago I am right with you.
All the best,

Slip & Sal wrote:Stop causing shit Mr Crocket and let people read your book. Take some critcism and just leave the snide comments out and you will do much better. You are baiting people and I think with the free advertising you got going on maybe you should settle yourself down.

The reason I haven't asked to read your book is because of the first extract in Worst coffeeshop experiences. You sounded like a hater. Do you expect all the people to have run over and helped you while you snotted all over yourself? I wouldn't. You seemed to hate people for merely watching you though and that seemed judgemental, to me. So I don't need to read more nonsense on hating people while in Amsterdam. I don't like writing or people like that. From your actions on here and your extract I based my reaction and don't want to read it. I think maybe you would have got more people to read had you not reacted to peoples comments.

Montana85 bought it also from you Advertising on here so technically Matty was right.

Ron why bother?

I'm Australian mate so no clique here.
Great post! That sums up exactly how I feel about the subject. Good on ya mate!

Fooking hell its Fred Elliot??..oh hang on he's not English so wont know who Fred Elliot was. Elliot was a man in Coronation Street who repeated everything he said..I say he repeated everything he said. Anyway man maybe I should have said don't like my style rather than me the person as you are quite right we don't actually know each other.

No mate please don't buy it. By that I mean don't pay for it. All the other good people that wanted to have a look got it for free so you shall also should you so wish. PVM me your email and I will send to you then you can read when you like....its only fair. Of course like most folk I could do with any money it makes for me but that was never my intention when I started posting on here. I simply wanted to run it past like minded people that may hopefully have appreaciated the subject matter and thence the humour within. It is written through my eyes and therefore my own brand of humour runs right through it. Try as I may I just cant write like Graham Greene or Poe as I'm not them...I'm me.

And having three ex wives tells me that sometimes other people just don't "get" my particular sense of humour. The exercise was akin to the pre release showings of films to selected audiences to gauge their reaction I guess. It would have been a little pointless offering it to the bints on Mumsnet really, but I came here (in peace) to what I thought would be a more receptive audience. Despite what has gone down and been said over this issue I stand by my decision to have brought the book here and don't regret it. The thing with Amazon is althought there is a facility to leave feedback on any book you have bought from there it is seldom used. So in effect I wont know what the vast majority of people who have read it think about it. That was my only purpose in saying anything on here about it.

You "drew conclusions" ......on what was simply a small piece of the book. I'd have thought a better idea would have been to draw conclusions after reading the whole book. But of course I can see that this small portion was not to your liking and therefore you were not going to read the whole book. That my friend is and was your choice. But I will be honest and say that far more people have taken up the offer to read it than have declined. Based on my knowledge of course.

How would you know how many people have declined, as they wouldn't be bothering to contact you to tell you?

Frankly, I decided not to after the gif that Gapie posted. The bit where you say all that can be obtained in the UK is soapbar and seedy weed, which is obviously not true, just your personal experience and lack of a decent contact. High grade weed has been in the UK since the early 90s. Good imported hash since the 70s.

Declined as in made it known on this thread or the worst coffeeshop thread. Its not like anyone has messaged me and said "hey man I don't want to read your book cos your a wanker and it stinks"...those that have dissented on here I mean. Also I was referring to the lack of decent weed as in years ago when I first started going...trust me man my contacts over 27 years of smoking weed will stand up to anyones.

Thank you for your offer but I do want an actual book that I can share with a few friends and also keep on the shelf, I like books.
I think any personal book written in the writers own 'truth' won't 100% please everyone but so what, they tend to be quite interesting and entertaining, freedom of expression and opinion is good.
