How many euros do you spend a day...?
Nods, didn't mean to imply that one needs spend that much money, only that it was easy to do so.courtjester wrote:If you're a budget traveler, don't be deterred by reports of people spending E300-400 per day. Personal finance is exactly that, and it's all up to the individual, what you're doing, and how much of it you're doing. Like Stygian said, it's not hard to spend that much, especially for a heavy smoker -- but if you're a budget traveler, it's not hard to spend a lot less, either.

agrees with jester that you can spend alot less. but as far as the tipping goes, they dont get insulted if you explain to them that is is our custom and we to us it means good service.. I found that our regular haunts, then tended to pay back the favor with freebie stuff such as drinks smokes even space cakes. so it all works out.
I need a miracle everyday
Typical daily costs per head on a recent mid-week visit were:-
Bed & breakfast - 50 Euros (100E/night between 2 of us)
Lunch e.g. Sandwich and drink - 7E
Entry to Museums, canalboat trips etc - 20E (we did at least 2 of these per day)
Dinner - 15E
Coffees, Drinks etc 10E
Tram fares 1E (strippenkart for just over 6E lasted 2 of us for 3 days)
Weed 2.25E (1 pre-rolled costing 4.50 last me 2 days)
So just over 100E per day (not counting any weed I may have bought for later consumption). We have done it a lot cheaper in the past by using museum cards, buying food & drink in supermarkets to picnic or eat in the hotel room. Could easily spend a lot more too!
