Recommendations on a decent vaporizer?

Hi all,

Recently back from Dam and have decided that I want to purchase a vaporizer. Anyone know of any decent priced ones or any handheld ones that are good?

I know that snoop dogg pen is awful as I've seen the reviews on many sites. I want something that will last and work well with general Haze's.

Any help would be great as I'm a complete novice with regards to vaporizers.

Thanks!

volcano,or the extereme, both do bags of goodness the extreme does a whip, remote control, different fan speeds as well, but is more fiddly, why the volcano is easy to use and very solid, igot both but think the volcano better for the bags and easier to use when wrecked

I'd go volcano every time.
Fuck a portable one for everyday use. You'll be forever charging the thing etc

magic flight

there is 1 for weed the Launchbox , and 1 for dabs the Muad-Dib

bought me a Launchbox 3 months ago and absofuckinglutely love it
after smoking this , all my joints starting tasting like shit , which made me switch to pure !!!
now i'm all like .. why the hell did i ever use tabacco   :x

it has a lifetime warranty , if its broken they send you a new one
no bullshit company , they really show love to the customers

you get a bit tired of having to load the batterys all the time ,
so be sure to buy the adapter too .
this enables you to plug the magicflight directly into the wall for electricity ,
and let's you control the amount of heat better

Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys, really appreciate it!

I too use tobacco in my joints but don't smoke cigarettes myself so I want to cut that out.

Keep the recommendations coming I'll look into all of them :)

I'm also looking at vape options. Problem is that I can't make up my mind ... I'd want either something non-portable that offers the option of filling bags like the Volcano. If I go that route, it'll be the Arizer Extreme Q.

On the other hand, I'd also like something portable. So I've been looking at the Arizer Solo, which usually gets good reviews. However, for use at home over extended periods, the built-in battery kinda sucks. The latest model can be used while charging, so that isn't that bad anymore. The earlier models could be upgraded with a bigger power adapter to do the same thing.

Right now, the tendency is to go for the Arizer Air. It's basically the same as the Solo, but it's smaller and has replaceable batteries. It uses 18650 rechargeable batteries, which are easily available (high end e-cigs also use them). So it would be easy to have a couple of charged batteries on hand and switch them out in a few seconds.

I am seriously considering getting the Magic Flight Launch Box. Been looking at all the reviews on several sites and all say great things! If RvanSteensel says its worth it and regularly uses it I might have to join him as its just in my price range!

Will be doing some more research and look into it more in the next day or two.

it takes a while mastering the technique for using the MFLB

you gotta take RLY RLY RLY small puffs , like lil breaths of panic air lol
take 1 puff every 2 secs , cause else you'll take away too much heat
but if u wait too long , it'll start burning
and you gotta make sure u dont put the battery in for too long cause itll burn too

takes about 4-6 smoke sessions to fully master it's use

Damn adamster i had never seen the silversurfer before .
Looks rly unique and solid

id say go for the arizer air (am a solo owner) your need to spend £10 extra for 2nd battery. tried many portable vapes now and the air is best by miles (would like to try crafty or mighty, pax, firefly as well). a half decent home unit is arizers extreme q i heard great things about then they got the solo and never used the extreme q again. for me volcano uses way to much weed compared to portable vapes and i preferred the solo straight away to the volcano if i were to get a a home vape id go down the VapeXhale Cloud EVO + swagger showercap hydra tube. only £50 more than volcano and you get some lovely glass work with a totally modern vape instead of a reliable but not updated in about a decade volcano. theres so much choice and dont get fooled by beautiful looking vapes. some real simple ugly ones are just as good. have a good look on fuckcombustion if anything your get way to much info from there. vapefiend have vids of them testing all vapes they sell + youtube will have a few 10 millions vapes vids. good luck
for me my MFLB just stopped being as awesome after 3 months its in one of my draws somewhere just incase all the other vapes stop working. you could go down the cheap route first like the flower mate (with variable temp). with either solo or air your not charging all the time i get 5 proper 10 min goes on the air then switch battery over then charge 1 batt every 4-5 ish days you can get bong attachments for most portables as well which im so happy i purchased

Thought I'd chip in on this one - first real post (other than my introduction) so hi everyone nice to meet you all.

Been a full time vaper for nearly five years now after winning a ten year struggle to quit tobacco… amazing how what I thought were cravings for my 'weed habit' actually turned out to be my tobacco addiction; I suddenly went from being a compulsive smoker to being able to take or leave herb and use it whenever I wanted rather than being a slave to the habit.

That was a real eye-opener for me, talk about cannabis being a gateway drug, it was for me - a prohibition mentality gave me my tobacco habit. Thanks government! Anyway - I tried vapes when the early models were being imported from America and although it took me a long time to be convinced, when I finally bought one… I never looked back and am a real evangelist for the technology. I still enjoy a pure bong /pipe hit or the odd pure J when the stash levels permit but that stash goes SO MUCH further when vaping compared to smoking so besides the purer / different (not better - IMO) taste of vaping Vs smoking, I'd recommend buying one on the money saving basis alone.

As for choice of unit. I've tried a few. In the early days I borrowed a friends imported Vapour Brothers classic for a while. Which is a nice little 'whip and wand' style unit, good price (the sell it at namaste vapes) - great flavour. It's design is a little odd though, the wand points down into the heater which experience tells me is a recipe for a heater element full of herb… hmmmm. Still - it would be my second choice of desktop unit if I were buying a new one.

I've not really tried a Volcano - although I will on my next trip to 'Dam - the bag setup (as opposed to a whip and wand) and that price really put me off. I hear good things about the taste but mmmm I'm not convinced; the bag will surely contain all the vapour from the entire bowl? Including the less tasty 'popcorn' ass hit at the end… So I think I prefer the whip and wand style for a desktop unit, those first few hits on a fresh wand are amazing like an amplified dry-pull on a pure fat J. The beautiful pure clean taste of boiling terpenes. I love it.

I 100% agree with Adamster; I'd go for the SSV or it's cheaper cousin the Da Buddah if you want one a home desktop style unit. I plumped for the Da Buddah because it's cheaper and has hands free usage without buying an attachment (unlike the more expensive SSV).

In hindsight I think leaving the wand attached all the time isn't the best way to get great flavour because the wand conducts heat into your herbs while it's attached and the vapour escapes… It's much better (if less convenient) to remove the wand from the unit between hits if you want to get the best flavour from your mix… so if your budget can stand it, maybe look at the SSV. Both units use the same heater element and basic design form factor so the experience will be much the same whichever you choose.

The taste from it is great, build quality is amazing - other than the sturdy glass parts, this thing is bomb proof. I NEVER turn mine off. Except to move it occasionally. It's been running for years without fail. Best of all - buy a right angled adaptor and you can hook it (or the SSV) up to your favourite 14 or 18mm glass piece…. Big smooth silky vapour bong hits, mmmmm lots of fun :)

I've got a Davinci handheld too - great taste but the unit gets hot, was very expensive and isn't in great shape after only six months use… not recommended at all.

Sorry about the rambling post! (I'm sure you all understand :) Good luck with your purchase - get the right unit for you and you won't look back!

If you really want a portable then I'd suggest the arizer air. I own a solo, an ascent and a pinnacle pro. Not a fan of the ascent (which I'm selling if anyone's interested) but many people love it. The pinnacle and solo are both great. The solo producers tastier, smoother vapor while the pinnacle is far more portable.

The air seems like a mix of the two. Solo clouds with the portability of a pinnacle or pax. I honestly think there's no better option out there in terms of portables in the UK.

Battery etc is a bit of a non issue because most of them can be used plugged in. All of the above can except the pax which we can't get in Europe anyway. I like portables purely because you're not tied to wherever a desktop vape is plugged in. If I want to sit outside in the garden and vape I can. Or on the crapper?

That said most desktop vapes do perform better than portables. They both do what they need to do but if your looking for room filling, lung busting hits then get a desktop, or both? That's a bit harsh on portables as they do produce more than satisfying clouds. If you're anything like me you wont stop at one vaporizer!
