A little bit of a trek, but my favorite shop is Birdy in Haarlem.
Quality goods
Friendly staff
Decent prices
It is exactly what a coffeeshop should be.
Great starting point for a Haarlem coffeeshop crawl.
Less tourists
Enjoy

420 is my favourite. Was my first coffeeshop that I went to years ago and every time I go to Dam I stop here first. Budtenders and staff are always pleasant and I just love the place! Have great memories from in here. NYD and a coffee from here that's how I start my stay! Even when I wake up I always seem to head here first its just my wee haven

tough q!
for atmosphere & surroundings- 420
for staff- voyagers
for gear- could go a number of ways. greenplace used to me my top pick but it's gone downhill.. bushdoctors used to be in doghouse but now it's in my top 3. across the decade, for consistency.. grey area?

The old Basjoes will never be matched but 1e Hulp ticks all the boxes

Katsu from the list.
The Bluebird is a close second in my opinion, shame it's not on the list.

Old Timer wrote:I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Basjoe's, while James was running it, it was definitely one of the very best IMO.
Other than Basjoe, I would say DeGraal, Amnesia, 1eHulp, Dampkring, Voyagers, and Utopia all deserve an honorable mention.
But if I had to pick one, then it would have to Basjoe until James left.
+1 for Basjoes

Homegrown fantasy for me, always very welcoming and a nice bright airy place to chill

Barney's on Haarlemerstraat has been consistent for me. They always seem to have at least one decent Sativa on their menu that hits the spot. They are a bit more expensive, but are worth it overall in my book.

Would have to be 420 for me atmosphere is always good, staff more than helpful and I've never had an issue with quality over years of visiting. Always kick start a trip with 5g of White Widow its became a tradition
